So, I'm planning on driving to ASS this year with my Alero. I'm tight on cash as I know a lot of us are these days, so IF there is anyone in the Indianapolis area or along the way to ASS this year from Indianapolis who would like to go, but can't drive for whatever reason post here. I'm looking for someone to bs with and split gas. Smoking is negotiable.

I just thought it was because Andy's age, last year and doesn't want to take 96 until NEXT year.

So at the 96th street exit there is a shell gas station, thats where we met in 09 there is a random parking lot behind it that we should meet in. the drive is about 3.5 hours and it would be nice to get there at a decent time so I say we meet up about 3:30 there

I checked both Google and Bing maps and could not locate a McD or Shell @ 96th St. There is a McD @ 116th St., but didn't see a gas station across the street. Maybe someone can confirm.

Thank you, I found it! It's in the northeast corner of that intersection. So heading north on I69 from 465, exit E. 96th St. (#3), take a right on E. 96th St., then next left, correct?

I wouldn't always rely on gps...we have had gps try and send us to the wrong location, it also doesn't always give you the best route...maybe I could be considered old fashioned but the main gps i need is an atlas and the map in my head...I will use gps every now and then but it doesn't always know what it is talking about

I will be in the middle of the pack. That's the only way I can comfortably keep up since I'm not technically allowed to drive out of state with my restricted license. Should be fine, but IF I get stopped I'm a traveling mechanic and I'm heading to a group meetup to do several small jobs for people on this site. That's my story. Should work if anything comes up.

We go about 10 over but thats the speed traffic goes. there is a state police outpost up about 45 min south of the MI border. So we slow down there. Pretty much just keep up with traffic the whole way. We went 90 the whole way In 09 and only passed 2 cops.
