Andy at crutchfield tells me this

You are limited by the depth available (6.327") in your 1999 Oldsmobile Alero, and most of the aftermarket receivers are not listed as a good fit for this reason. You may be able to work around these depth limitations, but this will fall into the category of a custom installation and I'm afraid we can't be of much help there.
Of course, everything you purchase from Crutchfield comes with our unconditional 30 day, money back, Total Satisfaction Guarantee. You get a whole month to make sure you have the right equipment for your needs.

Im not sure if i would know how to do a custom fit?... If i did would the deck stick out more then normal?

Thanks for any help

It will fit after you cut some worthless black plastic junk out from behind your head unit.

Sometimes Crutchfield is right on the mark, other times they're way off. They said my Pioneer DEH-P6600 wouldn't fit, so when it came time for the install I came prepared with the dremel tool. As it turned-out, no cutting was needed. I'f that deck is what you want to have in your car, then it can be done...one way or another. Just make sure you got a decent dash kit, and the rest is just a little extra work. Get a dremel tool handy just in case.

Good Luck Alerosport ! Keep us posted, and we'll get that deck in there.

I also had to cut away the rear bracing because of depth problems. Without doing it my head unit would have stuck out about an inch. Not to tough to get around though.

Q.
How about do you take the trim/bezel around the radio? pull? or does any other trim moldings come off first?

A
Insert hand into cubby pull up and out, found out in my other fourm lol. Remove shifter trim piece first though.
