I just purchased my first ever car this past Saturday, a nice 2004 Oldsmobile Alero!
I know I just got it but it drives very nice and is a beautiful car. I joined here since I know only a little when it comes to cars and I figured you guys would be the experts on my Alero.

I didn't take these, they were taken by the guy who sold it to me.

welcome to the site...and as sleepy says you should go to the alero show in June it is fun...and even though on here sometimes we may have a tendency to act like aholes a little bit if you go to the show and meet everyone you will find out that most of us aren't as big of aholes as we may come across as

Added pictures! And thanks for the welcome guys.
I didn't know there was an Alero show, but since it's during the summer I should probably come check it out.
You can see there is a little bit of rust in the pictures that I planned on taking car of tomorrow on my day off as well as cleaning the carpet and getting new floor mats (I think it still has the original ones and they are falling apart). And then maybe wax it once I'm all done.
It has 137,000 miles on it but it runs and shifts great.
Edit: It also has the 2.2L Ecotec and the dents on the front right are from the winter of '05, I was told. The guy's parent's bought the car for him new when he was sixteen and proceeded to hit a tree his first winter with it. Otherwise the body is pretty good for being in Michigan its whole life.

I'm looking through the clearing corners how-to and I'm curious. Is the point of it for slightly brighter headlights, or just for the cleaner look? (Which I much enjoy)

Welcome!!
I have a for sale thread for the type of car you have. I have everything from a small first mod like HIDs to a medium mod like an intake to a big mod like a full exhaust from header all the way back to the muffler.
