just bought myself an alero. figured i would join a forum, because i feel the need to customize it and what not. it's a 2003 3.4 coupe. i'm getting the rust spots fixed within the next month or two, and my hood needs repainting because the clear coat decided to fall off.

haha yeah i know, my buddy is gonna help me with those spots. its the new york salt that really gets to the vehicles around here. mechanically the car is perfect. but i really don't have anything done to it right now. apart from neon footwell lighting. i want to get a cold air intake and exhaust.

Where abouts in NY are you? Welcome to the site. That rust does look pretty bad....my sedan had some rust but not that much. Had 160k on the body. The previous owner just didn't take care of it. When i was looking for a coupe EVERY SINGLE ONE had rusted out qtrs. This one i have now the right side is rusted but were working on patching that. This car is from Pennsylvania though....and they use sand down there....let me tell you....other than that one rust spot this car looks AMAZING underneath.....subframe looks new.

Welcome to the site. Other than the rust and the hood, car looks pretty good :D

I had my stock hood repainted, but it started rusting out again, so I replaced it. :eek:

yeah haha, actually i am from around the rochester area, and apart from those two parts on the body, it's in perfect condition. i bought it off an old lady for 1800 bucks.

Pretty sure i saw you in albion the other day. I was in the silver alero with tinted windows, "dual exhaust" and blue stripes on the fender

Haha yeah, I'm always driving around town. I've put over 4000 miles on her since August.
