Got her washed up yesterday and did a couple things. Tinted the headlights and taillights (one tail light got messed up and will be fixed next time I got the time to do it. lol)

Here they are!

kinda regretting the headlights, but saw where you can remove the tint... Might try removing the tint just around the low beam spot... See what that looks like... Or just remove it all... I've been thinking about getting a new set of headlight housings because the ones I have are faded.

btw... This stuff = amazing!

Agreed... i have a set sitting in my closet collecting dust. Got pulled over for having them on at night and haven't had them on since!
i went with the clear corners and then painted bezels for my next sets of lights :)

yeah, I'll be removing the tint off the headlights. It was done out of curiosity mostly. I do like the tail lights. I didn't do it properly (was in a rush), but I do like the way it looks. So I'll be stripping what's on there and doing it the correct way. Can't wait to get it done! :) Thinking about leaving the 3rd brake light the way it is...

Question. Is it possible to separate the tail light lens from the housing? I'd like to do some LED work for brake lights.

I haven't found a way if you plan on putting it back together with the same lens

yeah. I knew someone else did the same thing on the tail lights. I liked it as well as leaving the reverse lights not tinted. So I combined it. As for removing the tint, I saw where you can use Goof Off or gasoline. Both remove it, but I think the goof off leaves the lens a bit blurry. I believe there is another step involved to make it shiny again. The gas would just need to be cleaned off afterwords.

hmm very interesting. im gonna have to give that another shot then... ill possibly try tonight.

gotta go get some gas! i love the blacked out look. but im just tired of having to keep redoing them every month and a half. plus everyone around here in my town does it now... and they dont even mod there cars. kind of annoying. so i wanna go back to red.

just for comparison... this is 2 1/2 years later with 3 light coats of vht and 3 coats of clear... for prep work all i did was wash the lenses and used some rubbing alcohol before spraying. there was no sanding etc. done as this is my winter beater and at the time i was just playing around with the stuff!!!

hahaha ya its fading... tbh i think i have washed this car about 5 times in 2 1/2 years, and have not touched the tails since i tinted them, so i think they are in great shape!! like i said, it's a winter beater, so it doesn't get too much love... yet i keep modding it because i just can't help myself when i find a good deal :P

Got the tint off the headlights using the gas method. Going to do the same to the tails and redo them the right way.
