Thursday, 13th:
Arrive at hotel and come see me....Oldsman (The Gold OSV)

Friday, 14th:
10:00am to 2:00pm - Alero Show with trophies. There will be 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place trophies for stock, mild and wild.
12:00pm - Judging starts
1:00pm - Awards
2:00pm - RE Olds Muesum Tour
4:00pm - Dinner @ Hooters
7:00pm - Lansing Lugnuts Baseball Game + Fireworks
Evening activities.

Saturday, 15th:
8:30am - Meet in hotel parking lot
9:00am - Leave for Homecoming Show
9:30am - 2:00pm - Homecoming Show
4:00pm - Cookout
Go-Kart and mini golf after Cookout
Evening activities

Sunday, 16th:
Finish up and go home in the afternoon.


Alero Chapter show classes

stock = stock body with or without aftermarket rims and tires and/or basic bolt on upgrades.

mild = Must have Aftermarket rims and tires and minor/major bolt on upgrades which includes ground effects (razzi) or engine modifications or lowering springs.

wild = Must have full bumper replacement (AED, AAS, OSV) and/or custom paint or custom interior or custom body work or adjustable suspension.

....the Alero Chapter reserves the right to re-classify any car in order to keep everything fair and impartial.

registering to show for ASS includes the registration for the homecoming show also.

if you register not to show but the day of the homecoming show you wish to participate you can register at the homecoming show. This does not apply to the Alero show.

As stated in the first post, THIS IS THE LAST ASS!!!

There will be no more ASS shows. You are welcome to go to the hotel and Homecoming next year, but you'll be at the hotel all alone and one of the few Aleros at the Homecoming show (if you can find them with the way the show is lined up now :rolleyes2: )

So if you are that guy that says "WOW looks like you had fun!! I'll def be there next year" It's not going to happen. No maybes about it, this is IT!!

And yes, Mr Adam and I will be there. Hopefully his Oldsmobile block shirt and hot rodding 82 Cutlass shirt still fit. He'll have fun on the car ride out, with his DVD player in the back seat :D

My record time was made last year, coming home (first time for that) and it was 10 hours and 43 minutes. However, coming home this year, I might stop at Summit Racing in Ohio :D

Well then, there's really no point of me registering is there? I mean I can't show a Pontiac at an Olds show, and I probably wouldn't be able to show the Cutlass at Homecoming(not that it's even in show condition as of now)... or would I?

Cuz at this stage, I can easily get either car ready, I just know a Pontiac in an Alero show is a no go... unless we get enough people with Grand Am's to have a side show (not how Oakland does it though)

if you travel through indy on your trip you me, fisdad, and manwhore could meet up and trail the rest of the way. Milzy might also be joining me in the trip up. hes 50/50 atm. just depends. and if he does go it might not be the full event. but still be neat to have him go, hes a great guy. ive been keeping contact with him over phone/email from time to time about it and hes been keeping me up to date on new parts coming out. also been discussing a turbo build. but thats besides the point ;)

I've been looking at used cars and I'm debating if I want to buy something really used like from the late 90's or newer like a Kia Sorento V6 with a 5 speed manual. That body style Cutlass is showing up a lot, and IDK how I feel about that. The newer ones they put a 4 banger in. FAIL, 5000 lb SUV with a 4 cyl engine, really :eek:

That on hinges on if I can afford a 2014 GMC Sierra Extended cab or not

Add one more person to that list! I took my hood off and put it back on on myself (replacing fenders on my GA).

The trick is to grab it from the bumper to the windshield, not fender to fender. Also, you want to use the prop rod to your advantage. If your Alero has the gas shocks, then make a provisional prop rod.

Don't make excuses not to do things... I don't have many good friends, so all car work is done solo. It takes time, but it can get done...

idea for the convoy (if there's going to be one): Aleros lead, followed by (in order): other Oldsmobiles, Other Domestics, Domestic-built foreign brands, then imports.

tip: if you have a hyundai or toyota, or any other foreign brand, if the VIN starts with a 1 or a 2, it was built domestically, J means it was built in Japan. Not sure of other letters/numbers though. I'm sure there's others here that know more. :)

I am not ready...I have so much stuff left to do it isn't funny but at least I should be off early tomorrow...I haven't even had time to book a room...I am still excited to go though, just a lot of anxiety for getting stuff done

No, its at the red roof in. He gave you the cost of the stay for friday and saturday night stay. Its like 70$ a night. I will be staying there to with eric, so your welcome to hang with us in our room for a bit as well.

I got it for $60 a night. The price was overall. Friday night, saturday night and then leave at sunday. They told me check in is 3pm and check out is 12pm.

This alternator opened up a can of worms for me... I was hoping to have it ready today but looks like it won't be ready until saturday.... so blown right now..

It wasn't near DC. I had parked it in Virginia at the end of train line and then some, and I didn't want to leave the Cutlass parked on the street in DC because they would ticket my car. I don't have DC plates on it so I can't get a zoning permit. Basically I was in a fucked up position. I'm mad about the whole ordeal but even if I could go, I just dropped $600 in the Cutlass, so I'm broke for the next month. I just got the Cutlass running tonight though, and it's in tiptop shape, but I wouldn't even make it for the Olds Homecoming. Fk my life right now...

Well I didn't know that my Cutlass would decide to sht on me the last week. I had everything ready, but all of a sudden, the Cutlass decided to blow out its alternator and its starter. Long story short I dropped all the ASS money on getting it to drive again, and the other car was far away from my house. I'm not going to divulge on my living situation and my cars because I already stated it but don't read one post and assume you know everything because if you think this was last minute preparation then you thought wrong.

Plan a trip for months and then have your car blow out major components in hard to reach areas at the last minute and then tell me if you wouldn't be in the same position What a lot of people dont realize is that I don't have a 3400 in that Cutlass, I have a 3.4 LQ1 which is a bitch to work on so there goes the "you could have done it yourself" sht out the window because in order to do that alternator, the trans axle had to come out. It's a 3 to 4 hour job and it requires more than just your run of the mill Sears tools.

This isn't even about me being cheap because I already had the hotel. IF you knew how much I blew on that car to have it drive again, then you would know it is what it is...
