has anyone tried this? its a rubber lip kit with 3m adhesive plus screws and washers for 30 bucks on ebay. i have wanted a lip kit for my car for the front bumper but i dont know what will look good.. I do want a functional front spoiler because the car doesn't really feel that stable at 80+ (interstate cruise speeds and passing speeds) but right now i can not afford a real front spoiler with adjustable struts. just something to show. http://www.ebay.com/itm/ALL-FIT-UNIVERSAL-FRONT-BUMPER-LIP-KIT-SPLITTER-BODY-SPOILER-CHIN-SPOILER-RUBBER-/190670754049?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &hash=item2c64dcd101&vxp=mtr
opinions?
I would rather stay away from aftermarket front bumpers if i can.

also, I was thinking about getting a trunk w/o spoiler and drilling holes in it to fit the grand am GT1/SCT spoiler.. has anyone tried it or thought about it?

it might look good. who knows.
as for the SCT/GT spoiler, from my understanding it should fit in stock holes. but not entirely sure. ive been wanting the SCT spoiler in black for my car.

I have the sc/t spoiler already. i looked at it and the posts are angled on that spoiler as the posts on my alero's spoiler are straight. the spoiler is on my grand am.(which i hit a dear with)
hmm.. i just want to know what it looks like. id hate to go ripping the spoilers off to find out its going to look like crap. not like its hard or takes for ever, i just don't want to do it unless i know it fits/looks good.

i think it will too. I seen your post on grandamgt.com that no one on here knows if the holes line up or what-not. I really wish someone would just find out. so i don't have to LOL. im lazy like that. but i guess ill try it when the rain breaks and we get nice weather again.

It's just rubber trim for garage doors. Look up home depot lip or something along those lines on google. Lots of people have done this on other cars. Someone just decided to make some money on ebay, it should be much less than $30 at the store.
Also any sort of front lip is not going to do anything for stability at interstate speeds. Why do you think it feels unstable? Are your tires balanced, all the suspension parts and bushings in good shape? If you want it to feel more stable, lowering it will probably be the best thing.

okay maybe i didn't say the real speed because i don't care for people telling me i shouldn't be going 125 on public roads. LOL
the front end almost feels like it wants to lift
anyway i will look up the home depot lip thing.

sorry o3gxeco, i also agree. car should only go 107.
on the other hand, yes you SHOULDNT be going that fast, but what you do on your time is your business. I do it from time to time as well. we cant stop you from doing it other then saying "its bad" and you "shouldnt be risking your safety along with everyone else who is around you". only person who can stop you is the cops. anyway, good luck, be safe.

I did not have my gov tuned out. I found it hard to believe as well. maybe my tires threw off the speedo who knows, but the car went well past 115 and was past 120 for a moment. I don't see why its hard to believe considering a SE grand am will do 124 stock and my gt does 135 (tested). alero is the same thing no?

for disbelievers i will set up my gopro in my coupe sometime soon and prove that the car does what i say it does. :) I have nothing to hide from you guys. just give me a few weeks to ensure the weather is done being a twat.

the GT was never had govenor (from what i know, atleast i know the top speed is over 107) but all aleros were governed at 107. if it is true im suprised. im not saying your lying but its odd that yours will go over that.

My Alero was going 115 and my ex said that they had had it to 130 on a road trip years ago. Neither of them are car people so I know that they never tweaked the ho. Limiters aren't perfect. I have had cavaliers that will do 130 and others that stop at 107-114
Also, the grand am spoiler looks fine on the Alero. I just did this at the junk yard last week. I will warn you that the holes don't in fact line up. The rear bolts fit the holes, but the front bolts do not. They are farther toward the outside of the car. It's not off by much though.

When I go back to pull a part I will take a pic. I meant to last time, but I'd left my phone in the car.
