I am looking to get either 235/40/17 or 235/45/17 tires for my next set. My alero is lowered w/ ST spring and KYB struts. Does anyone know first hand if these tires will work when turning completely (as in it will NOT rub the inner walls)? Please let me know, thanks!

Either will work fine, 235 is the width so no matter what the profile< they remain the same width. I had 235/45R17 on my car and they turned just fine. There is a sizable sidewall with these tires so if you don't mind your speedo being off a bit, go with the 235/40

i am running a 225/40/18 and with the coil overs slammed i still had plenty of room
and now with the air ride i want to go bigger

i think it also deprends on the offset of your rims because i only have the eibachs and kybs, and with my etx rims 235/18/45's wouldn't fit. I could visibly see them hitting the springs when the rims were back on my car with 235's, but the 225's are fine on my car.

I did the 225/45/18 and Ilike em better than my 40s due to sidewall protection (less chance of bubling)

It also depends on the tire manufacturer. Mfuller can go into a little more detail on this, but I believe Michelin's are notoriously narrower than they say.

I am looking at the Fuzion ZRi 235/40/17 tires off Tirerack.com they are only $92 a piece and I've heard some awesome reviews about these online and from people that I know that have them.

I have the Fuzion ZRi and love 'em! They were a huge improvement over the Kumho's I had prior.
