IIRC it should be the one that is hard to reach by the firewall. I want to say it has a green cap.

If it's the V6, it's under the alternator. The normal way to fill it is to get a hose that's long enough to reach.

2 posts, same answers.

I, like the other 2 that have posted, own V6's. The Service port is the one under the alternator, next to the firewall, that is hard to get to. ;)

That's the one I was looking at which is not by the alt if I' am remembering correctly. I haven't looked this year. I just noticed it's having a hard time keeping cool unless it's on high.As for why have ac???

Like this, except get the 24" hose kit from Advanced (FLAPS), get the R134 with no additives, give the thing a shot. I had no compressor engaging before, now blowing cold air. At least for today. I shot that in there without running the engine, it took most of the can. Purge the air out of the hose line before attaching connector to the port

Big lots sells r134a cheap.
You do not need the engine running to add it! While it's preferred, on the V6 I recommend adding it with the engine off if you are so low that the compressor won't turn on. Just add a whole small (~12oz) can if it's so low that your compressor won't turn on.

Umm the system can only pull in so much with it off. With the system off the pressure will equal out so that the high side and low side will be the same. Like 60psi

The compress will turn on when it's full enough and shut down when pressure drops.

I was also thinking of taking it in if there was a dealer special. I owned it for 7 years and haven't done a purge and refill. I don't know if the original owner did either.

Ahem.

If the compressor isn't running, the system will equalize at around 50 to 70 PSI. Period.

In order to get enough refrigerant into the system, you NEED the compressor running.

Or you can do several items which should all start with "Here, hold mah beer. I'z g'wanna show ya sumpin'!" in a drunk redneck accent, and will usually end at the hospital (if lucky!) or the morgue.

No, thankee. I'll do it the proper way and suck the refrigerant into the system.
