Uhh. Yep. That title about sums up the part of what I'm looking for.
Kind of difficult to search the forum if you're not quite sure what to search for.

Okay, so the manual key entry on driver side door has a little plastic holder that the unlock bar hooks to. Before I got the car, the driver side door lock never worked. Always had to walk around the passenger side door to unlock it. The plastic piece was brittle and broke off of the metal piece when I tried to put the bar back on.

The little white plastic piece in the pics is the piece I mention in the description. It looks like it comes as all one piece, the plastic built onto the metal piece.

Any help would be highly appreciated for locating a replacement part for this.

While we're at it, let's take this one step further.
Part 2: It sometimes gets very dark where I park my car, I really would love some light up handles to easier locate the key hole. I seen some aftermarket handles that would do the job great but they were like $100 to $200. I know quite a bit about electronics and such but don't know too much about the wiring loads the car can take.

I'd preferrably like to try to add some blue LED's to the handles myself but not quite sure where I'd wire them into. Everything on the car is pretty much manual (like mirrors, windows, etc). The wires that run the cigerette lighter plugins are completely burnt out and need re-run. Where else could I wire the LED's to? I also note, that I would have to use some sort of waterproof LED holder or some sort of sealing agent. Anybody have any luck with that?

Here are the pics for the part I need.
Again, the forum flipped my pics. Sorry!

Heres an update for part 2.

I picked up some LED's and Chrome LED holders. Gonna take a stap at the door handles myself. Also came across another thread that directed me to aleromodupgrades google site and liked the lightup cupholder idea. Gonna try it out too. Maybe even go one further and do the vents while i'm at it.

Heres what I just ordered:
40 pcs LED 5mm Blue 3000-5000mcd Blue Led Lamps

10 x LED 5mm Blue Ultra Bright Flat Top Wide Angle LEDs Light Lamp Car T1 3/4

Luminated HVAC vents:

Spent over $25 but hey, it'll be worth it. xD

The LED's for the door handles are 3000-5000 mcd so I may only need two per door handle. That runs me at about (MAX)
volts: 3.3 * 2 * 4 = 27v and
amps: 40mA * 2 * 4 = 320mA

Not too shabby. I think I can pull that off. Probably not a good idea to put that under constant load but for short durations of about 10 seconds shouldn't hurt too much. Unless I decide to do some trickery, add in some transistors and make a small raspberry Pi control them for fun. Could probably even build my own circuit that makes them dance with the music. Would be neat if I ever decided to put her in a car show. ;) However, if I went the circuit route I'd lose control from the in-car HUD that I plan on putting in there. Which will probably be a touch screen of some sort. Unless I put some input ports and microcontrollers in that bad boy too.

baaaah. Thinking out loud and getting ahead of myself!! We'll see!

About the plastic bracket, this seems to be part of the lock cylinder.
I'd assume u either "glue" it back on - on see if u can find a fitting lockcylinder, or change that part over from an on old off of ebay.

The only thing that might work new is this
PAWL,FRT S/D LK CYL(USE ON VEHICLES WITH ALL METAL PAWL)
Although I have no clue what a "pawl" is

As u didnt stated what car this actually is for, I just looked for 99 LA1 Aleros

Hey falloutboy. Thanks for the response!
I forgot to mention that the metal bar is only held on by a slip pin of a sort. I'm confident you can replace the part without having to buy a whole new lock cylinder for it. If I have to, I'll use a plastic printer to make a replica of the part and find a way to mount it to the metal bracket.

As I said, It might be the "pawl" thingy.
u probably get this kinda "generic" part from Dorman or so, or at a dealership

Oh! I missed that part. Sorry. Reading from a mobile device. Bleh.
I'll see if I can find anything about this PAWL thing. I'm thinking of swinging by the dealership to see if they have this part. Who might Dorman be? Is that a member here?

I have also debated making my door handles glow...But I have keyless so it would just be something to look cool instead of functional for me.
