Can a cold air intake make a big difference at all at the track because I raced a GTP when I was stock and he beat me by a door length but when I put the CAI on he was at my rear bumper. Stock my car in the 1/8th it ran an 11.32 with the CAI it ran a 10.30 let me know if you felt a difference.

So your stock ga beat a gtp by a full length?

Lol. Intake wont do much for you, even with no supporting mods for more air. I highly doubt your cai made your car run a full second faster.

If that were possible that would be everyones very first mod for power. Even though it basically already is but not because it will "knock a second" off your drag times.

So, with only a CAI, you went from a 11.32 to a 10.30 in the 1/8.

The 1/4 mile conversion of that is you went from a 17.63 to a 16.07, dropping 1.56 seconds off your time, with just a CAI.

Haven't heard that kind of ricer wit around here in a long time :rolleyes2:

The best I've seen a CAI gain was .5 seconds in the 1/4

And you post a vid of a glorified street race where neither one of you knew what you were doing, and it shows in r/t, style, launch, etc.

For the sake of argument, let's just say you did pick up 1.5 seconds in the 1/4 from a CAI. The CAI wasn't the only factor. What about other mods, car weight the day of, weather conditions the day of, air pressure, humidity, temp, time of day (you can see this was at dusk, when it's starting to get cooler)

My car, with the SAME mods, has run 14.82 one day and 16.1 another, all based on current conditions.

You CAI did not gain you that much, it was a combo of your CAI and excellent conditions on that day.

This is 10 years of racing experience talking here. I know what I'm talking about. Do I know everything? Absolutely not. Does Mitch (Daytona on here) know everything with 25 years of racing experience behind him, absolutely not, but we both know more than you.

Congrats on your good track day and winning your "street" race :awesome:

EDIT** You may have slips, but the vid does not show the scoreboard. Isn't that the most important part of taping a drag race?

They do not have a score board at that race track they only have a light at the end of the track that lets you know who wins time slips are accurate :P
And I never street race it was at the track street racing is stupid that's how people get tickets.

No man, it's not that we don't believe you, its that your story is not air tight. You post about running this great time, then post a vid that's 3 years old, and you ran out of bullshit to back it up.

By the way, this is how you properly shoot a track video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LytVNZpggkM) and this video leaves no questions on what I ran. Yes this vid is old, but it's the best video I have on my 1/4 mile times. This video was shot in December, at a track that runs into the woods were my car is ALWAYS faster. Here's a video taken on Mother's Day a few years ago. Car rarely runs 14's at this track (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JPQJRiyE9IE) it is my home track and the car has run 14's there maybe 5 times. the best here was 14.825 when the conditions were like "mine shaft" air. Air pressure was equal to 500 feet below sea level at the starting line, but closer to 700 feet below at the finish line. Everybody was running faster this day

Oh this site can be so full of win.... How did I miss the action over here! My guess, if the dude is actually trying to be "on the up" about this, is if the stock set up he had in place was a brick.. completely plugged filter. If a plugged filter were to come out, factory intake removed, new filter with the cai and a really dense air charge, yes I could see it happening that way.
Other than that, dude we've been doing this a long ass time and you had to know the B.S. flag would go up on this..
