I just bought a lx5 throttle body, and will be getting an adapter from WOT-tech i was jsut wondering how anyone who has it, did the throttle cable bracket? I have plenty of sheet metal available to me and i do have sheet metal working experience so let me know. thanks in advance

Notch the top where the bracket bolts down to the manifold, and then the distance from the throttle cable bracket holder needs to be about 1/2" out from where it is stock. Been waiting for John to finish doing a setup for a customer so i have pics and can repeat it here as well. Then we will have the modified brackets to go with the adapter and throttle body.

I won't be installing it for a while. Im getting parts together for my build the throttle body was the first and the cheapest. LOL. i won't have time to install till like... spring nxt year. but by then i will have more mods (headers and a tune)
i fabbed my own throttle cable mount and modified the lx5 tb spacer to fit my lx9 engine

I seen that. however id like to spend money on one that is properly done and doesn't look like a hack job.

Or....you could just get a TCE TB and save yourself some aggravation unless Ben has the LX5 brackets made up by then. :coolio:

hmm... 39 bucks for a throttle body plus 54 for the adapter so total of 93 bucks or spend over 250 on a tce tb.... i think ill stick with the lx5 tb. plus it looks almost stock-ish.

mmmm TCE throttle body. i have the 65mm, money damn well spent. looks great under the hood with it. performs well.
but hey, since you dont have time... ;) spend the extra cash on a TCE TB and you can swap it out in 5 mins... if you even have time for that... ;) :) :D :coolio: :p :rolleyes2:
smiles out the ass!

it may look like shit but i didnt spend a damm dime on it and it works just fine for over 2 years now,
i could care less what it look like it works and it goes so what ever
and on another note when i swapped my lx9 into the car i took the TIME to do my headlights too :D

That's on my to-do list also....but first a dyno tune is coming in about three weeks, then we can play with the lights later. :usa:

i meant no offence. but clearly you didnt take the TIME to read the thread, I don't have TIME RIGHT NOW. none of my installs will be until next year when my son and daughter are over the newborn / terrible two phase respectively.
I simply did not want to wait until next year to clear my corners. smh..:rolleyes2:
