The latest rumor at the track nmow is that Points racers, like Daytona and myself, may not be able to race in the import style races like Street Wars and so on.

Why?

Ricers are crying that the point racers are "Too Good!"

I guess when you're cutting a .600 light and dialing 1 second faster than your car can run, you'd cry too.

It's kinda like the Civic I killed since I dialed at 15.80 and he dialed at 15.

I ran 15.90 and he ran a 16.20. I ran the 15.90 because I left off the gas at the end

It's like playing with a first grader. In fact check out my added signature

Someone explain "Dial in" to a guy who's never been to a track in his life.

a dial in is what you perdict what your car will run in the 1/4 mile.

The closer you get, the harder you are to beat. If you beat the dial in, you "break out" and you lose

Dial in is also refered to handicapp racing

If I dial 15.50 and the other guy dials 14.50, I would get a head start, since the other car is faster. Then it all comes down to reaction time. B)

Street Wars is what us Points racers are banned from, though Ken is new enough that no one will think to pull him. I, on the other hand, will have quite a bit of trouble trying to fool my buddies in the tower or on the starting line. I might come down anyway.

Gotta be sneaky about it.

If you have the 3400 motor, some of the later ones were made in Mexico

My Daytona is an American car (built by Dodge in the US) but has a Mitsubishi 3.0-liter installed as the standard engine from the factory. Therefore, since it's powered by Mitsubishi I can run in the import races, the MOPAR shows, the Detroit Iron events, Sport Compacts, and NHRA Stock Eliminator (it's EF/SA and FF/SA class-legal).

wheres the ecotec motor built?

Actually, my car is an import to Canada....so....

I wish I lived closer to you guys, this would be a fun fun event!

I only bracket raced once with my grand am/grand prix club. I made it to the semi's. I had dialed in at 15.62 and was doing fine with all my times in the 15.64-15.71 range. Then I ran a 15.60 :pissed: Worst part was I had a big lead and coulda let off the gas.

Canada is a foreign Country so that makes it an import

That's how I go in last time. Since I got the Manifold kit from RSM, I told them that my motor is Canadain ;)
