ben and mike are sure to chime in eventually, Both of you should design a sturdy Strut tower brace. the only ones i see online are cheap ebay ones or if your lucky enough to find vibrant J body bars. we need a solid alternative.
Just sayin'

My eBay one worked just fine.

If your really trying to make a car handle well, a STB is way down low on the list of things you should do to the suspension.

^^ this...

You would be looking at proper performance rated lowering springs sway bars poly bushings lateral arms etc before worrying about stb's... you would also be better off to upgrade the braking system as well before the stb's would have any overall impact on your handling... with these cars they do help but are more or less an appearance mod unless you go to a full chassis bracing system... then it's all custom from there...

ebay stbs or any other option that is out there will do you just fine. in order to make those (atleast with milzy) he would need more then one person interested. if he only made one, it would not be cheap for you, period.

I think STB's do help the handling, but a good set of performance tires is absolutely crucial to getting the car to handle well. Extra camber also helps a lot.

I am willing to make stb's, but it is going to take some volume to get going. To make them cost effective, I need to order flanges for 20 sets, so a pre-order of 10 would be the best way to get them going. If I were going to make a stb for the n-body, I would make it fit all the years of the bodystyle for all the alternator styles that came on the cars, and I would also make it have clearance for cars that have our modified fuse box bracket (mostly turbo cars), that way I can make one design. With the alt and this, it's going to be a curved bar, which I would make a prototype, and then send out to get the rest of them bent, and I would also design it to use Haim joints, so they would be adjustable, very strong, and make them easier to fit cars if they were a little out of spec. Then of course we'd have them powdercoated. The bottom line is they would not be cheap. How many of you would be in the market for a $125-150 strut tower brace?

$125 is a deal for something like that. The brace I am getting for my Challenger retails for around $300!

Count me in!

If this is serious it needs to be posted on all of the N-body sites. You could get 10 pre-orders in a day and more like 25-30 in a week. We got 20+ DRTC's in a week or so last year on 60degree.

Depends if 10 people go in on it..

this is the current problem, most people have them now, as ebay ones are $25-50 so they are a cheap mod that looks cool... for a custom bar like you are planning Mike, that would be awesome, but at the same time, I am not sure how many people would want to buy another bar if they already have one... I know personally, I am sticking with the SLP front and rear bars I have...

I know there are cheaper stb's out there, that's one of the reasons we haven't made any of these yet. I didn't know if there was a market for them. Well, you guys say the word, and I will start a pre-order on some.

As long as they are stronger then ebay ones. i took the ebay front off my alero and the damn flanges bent and the bar has a small crease in it. get what ya pay for i guess.

post "I WILL PRE-ORDER ONE" if you would go in on the group buy or "I WILL BUY ONE" if you plan on buying later. I'll post this here and gagt and if there is enough interest, we can make it happen.

So far, we've got 4 people saying they will buy one later, and 0 who want to pre-order.

I would consider making any new product for these vehicles, provided there is a market for it, and people ready to buy.

I will buy one if this gets rolling, unless I make my own before then. (assuming it would clear my charge pipe)

Rear sway bar is what I want.

Are installation of the STB's simple bolt on or do you need to compress springs or anything like that?

tw0123

straight bolt on...
