Im going to get my wheels sometime this weekend. they are 17x8s off a bonneville which has close to the same offset as the alero. 12187 That is the wheel im putting on the alero, close to the gagt wheels I have now but larger im hoping this will fill out my wheel well a little more and allow me to do the brake swap. I still have rear drums so i mean that will look stupid but im not going to do a rear disc swap for a long time if i ever decide to. I love the way the gagt rims looks on the car thats why i chose these ones. Anyway, I just need to know if ill need spacers if i use the OEM recommended 235/50r17 tire on these wheels when i install them.

Well im sure you dont need them... maybe.

Most I would say is if the bore size isnt 70.3mm (I believe thats the alero bore) you will need spacers or will have to find a machine shop to drill em to that size.

Imo im not a fan. I would just get aftermarket wheels.

You likely will need to use a small spacer if you go with a 235/50R17 tire.
If you use a 225/45R17 tire (to keep the PCM happy), then you might be okay.

is a 225 going to be to small for the 8 inch rim?

No. I run a 225 tire on my 8" wide rims.

Why ew?
A wider tire is heavier.
I can get great grip with a carefully-selected 225 tire.
Why install a bigger tire than you need? You're just hauling around excess weight.

Lol Matt i think Billy was referring to the style of wheel not tire dimensions :)

If you go with the bonneville tire size it.will throw out your speedometer and if you lower the car it could rub on the fenderwell...

eh. most wheels will throw it off. mine is off 2-4 mph...well was until I redid my gauge cluster and now its spot on cause I adjusted the needle.

Lol Nate ... you.can adjust it in hptuners... paul recalibrated mine to account for.my 20's... I'll need him.to readjust for my new 18's to get it back on track though :)

Exactly. Those rims are fugly in my opinion. Aftermarket > OEM "quality"
