Whats up everybody. Im new to the forum i have a 01 alero 2.4 all basicly stock and i want to lower my car. At first i was looking at aibach but then saw pics and dont think 1.2 inch drop is enough considering my springs are already shot it seems to me there would be to much wheel gap. What does everybody think of intrax. There 2 inch drop. Also i plan on getting the kyb excel-g shocks. But i havnt decided on everything yet i need strut mounts and boots also. So any opinions are appreciated

Eibachs and H&R are good 1.5 is very nice lower may give you too many issues imho.

How low you can safely go depends on the roads around you ;)

Which in America aren't very good in most places. Hey if someone wants to be "that guy" that can't crawl over a speed bump or get into a parking lot so be it.

Ya i have looked at almost all of yalls threads and pics of your cars i guess it really is stupid to go to low. 2 inch prob is to much. Plus i live in florida with shit roads. Thank yall for the opinion thats all i needed i know basicly everything to get from looking at yalls setups and posts

At least you don't have to worry about frost heaves in Florida. They wreak havoc here in New Hampshire.

A lot of guys with Aleros and Grand Am's do the H&R's or Eibach Pro's and are pretty happy. It gives a little lower ride + little more performance yet isn't over the top. You'd be surprised what an inch and a half does with our cars. :p

Not really looking to buy used. But the eibach springs are the ones that i was originally looking at but then i saw a alero with them and they didnt seem low enough. I know im just being stuburn but i have a good bit of wheel gap i wanna close up. But i honestly will prob end up going with eibach im just gonna keep researching. I think 1.5 would be perfect though

I vote H&R.
I started years ago with H&R, then tried Eibach and Intrax.
I returned back to H&R because they were the most well-rounded.
Moderate lowering with a slightly raked stance, and a different ramp rate which seemed more comfortable in daily driving, but still benefited handling.
If you get beat up driving your car, you don't enjoy it as much.

Yup sounds about right. Can't wait to get my taxes back next year. Looks like around $700 in parts for springs, struts all the hardware - the labor :hissyfit: well at least on tire rack anyway.

I have a set of h&r's paired with kyb gr2's... the springs have about 3000km and the struts are brand new... I'm seriously considering selling but they will cost you lol.... I'm not wanting to take a loss and will use them if they don't sell :)

rock auto is the only place to get the agx's. they are the cheapest on the net for gr-2s as well. I will be ordering one of the two for my front. H&R's and eibachs around $200 most places more. I found some 'sprint' lowering springs on ebay. cheapest for the n-bodys I can find. $130 free shipping, supposed to be a 1.6 drop all the way around.
not meaning to thread jack but anyone had experience with this 'sprint' im guessing ebay brand? due to the price and me being a broke college student im thinking about giving them a try.
