I hit a pot hole the rockers are the least of my worries. the rims are the worse, not to mention the brakes and the suspension. but yes after all the money and time you have to be careful.

We'll see how the old girl is doing at that point, she is doing decent right now, better than she was earlier in the month. Either this summer or next summer I plan on replacing her, most likely with another Alero. If this summer the money will go to buying a car instead of going to Michigan.

Yeah, I went in 2010 back when I still had my Alero. That was the year Andy had to wear his neck brace and I got to see the Beast for the first time. So I figure after 5 years it's time to make the trip again lol. I know it was a great time when I went then and I'm sure it will be another great time this year.

Indeed! regardless of not doing those extra activities. I had to get tires and brakes anyway. 09 was ryan's 'alero garage' and nate and I had mine half ripped apart last year, along with a terrifying journey. always been a great time the 2 years I have been able to make it. I plan on actually showing mine this year to. I'll be waxing it every time a spec of dust falls on it like everyone else :lol: speaking of which the olds show and swap meet are cool as well. looking forward to it!

yeah I need a new motor before I go to this homecoming lol. Under 50,000 miles and I already seem to have messed it up. "note to self: DO NOT downshift into 2nd gear when going 75mph." I hit probably 8 grand in the rpm range even tho we top out at 7 grand. The gear ratio is what made it rev that high.

Obviously if you do that would be cool with me, but that is quite the list you've got going to get accomplished before then. I like when others appreciate the effort i put into this car, if people want to see it, ill show it. Im very happy with my car and what ive got into it.

In all honesty, the money she needs to be back together isnt bad. I just hate seeing her in my garage without a motor, and not being able to start the damn thing, its very sad. :( lol

All cash i can spare is now going into the black car so she can get back on her feet.

I would be much closer to being finished if i didnt buy my daily Alero, ive got around 1250$ in the daily i bought (buying price, plates, insurance, parts to fix, and alignments) if i didnt get that, i would be closer to having the black car ready. But, the black car was my only car, so with it down, i finally had to get a daily. Which im happy with because i dont like the black car in rain or snow, shes a nice day car. The daily can soak up all the water and salt it wants! I dont mind lol


But yeah, ill be getting a transmission ordered next friday. And hopefully headers will be ordered from Milzy as well. Then ill order a clutch, then decide what next.

My garage is unheated, so if its to cold out, i cant work on the black car. So im hoping soon, the weather will get a little better here once i have the parts lying around for the motor to go back in, and then ill go from there.

This. That's the way it should be man and that's what makes us car guys. I know it's a great feeling when random people come up to me on the street and compliment me for having a nice car or tell me they like my car. I can honestly say that I know how you feel on this one lol. While I was in basic and AIT I wasn't allowed to drive my car at all. It just sat at my grandparents house 2 states away in their garage for 5 months. Needless to say I missed not being able to drive my car a lot during that period of time. I think when I finally got back and was able to drive it again, I drove it almost non-stop for a week lol. So I understand how it feels to not be able to get in, start it up, and just go for a cruise.

This is actually where I'm at with the Miata lol. I wish I could afford 2 cars right now cause I love this car to death, but I hate that it has to be my DD. One cause it's not really the type of car that is meant to be a DD and two because it's constantly exposed to the elements and carelessness of others.

Now I don't really mind the rain so much, but I do mind the snow and salt like I had to drive in last night. Keep in mind too this car isn't really meant for winter driving conditions so it did slide around a little bit lol. Today I just decided to leave it parked and stay indoors cause I don't want to risk losing it out there with the roads the way they are.

All in all though $1250 was not a bad price to pay to have a 2nd Alero and new DD. I think I've told you that before lol, but still.

I have a walbro 255 pump right now, and anything under half a tank of gas, i bog at WOT. Its installed right for sure, just for some reason sucks. So im going back to stock for now, i could run a 1/4 tank WOT with stock and still had full power.

Yeah, I feel ya on that man. Here's hoping for some decent weather then so you can get started on the work!

It's a weekend I look forward to every year since the first time I went. Babyblue has changed ALOT!! Since the first one I went too. Went from complete stock one year to six speed-3.5 swap the next year and this year I got the whole exhaust done. It's gunna be a good meet even if we only have a few people. Last year I had a awesome time. Sleepy and I got a chicks number at a bk haha. I helped papa out with breaks. Saw some amazing 442s at homecoming. I would highly reccomend coming!!

I've been in contact with Bryce about as much as I have with Milzy. He has come through for me twice already, so I'm trying to give him benefit of the doubt. It sounds like he's had some crazy personal stuff going on plus work, but we'll see if he comes through. I hope he does. My set is allegedly his last set ever.

I feel better now that I know it was just from the exhaust lol. Exactly man. I don't mind fingerprints so much, but I can't stand when someone leans or sits on my car. It's like I don't want your a** rubbing up against my car or sitting on my hood or trunk!?! Because of this winter and the schools going into a panic, Adam's school year has been extended until June 19, it was orginally June 12.

I'll have insurance but not plates and that's a little sketchy. Not to mention I'll be in the initial break in period for my tranny, so this trip could be nothing but problems for me. Keep your fingers crossed that I don't roll in in my Impala instead.

Well I'm going to be in the "next year" boat with kenny. We are starting the headers this weekend, new thermostat, fluids, parking brake shoes, short shifter, belt and start some body work and other minor things around the car. Assuming we get the headers on within the weekend it'll be 2 weeks before it can get in for the rest of the exhaust. Then I get to drive it for a week and get it in for the new clutch (stage 3 with a spec light weight flywheel) sooo.... it should be in proper shape to make it for next year. I had enough suprizes last year, I dont want to get up there and have no clutch left anyway.
And Ryan, but a boot in someone's butt so you get your darn car before it rots in his parking lot.

Aside from that. I did lower intake gaskets on my car.... And once all back together i had a huge problem.

I woke up friday for work at 7 am... Worked my 9 hours... Came home it was 92* so i waited till night (low of 70) to do the intake gaskets... Didnt start till midnight on that, was up from 7 am friday, to 930am saturday (12-930 messing with car) plus many breaks were had... I had it down to the gaskets in about 2 hours. But was just taking my time.

But got it all back together and had a loud hiss from the engine, i had a vac leak somewhere. I finished the car around 530 am, and then spent 530-930 reading engine codes that popped up, and also passing out in the garage lol, so i went to bed baffled... Then took my car to my shop to do a smoke test.

By the time i got there i still had the vac leak, car was running very rich, and i had a cyl 3 missfire all at once... Turns out my #3 injector was missing a o ring some how... Dont know where the hell that went. Car probably ate it... But replaced the o ring and finally all symptoms are gone and shes back to normal. But thats been my weekend so far. Lol just trying to get everything done before next weekend. Im pretty set now. Dont really have anything else to do, maybe wax the car but thats about it.

My plan is to go up through Indy (sometime) Thurs. after staying in Springfield, MO Wednesday night. Is Chicago too far out of the way?

I spoke with Milzy again today. It's not looking good for my car. After 10 months of telling him "no rush so long as it's done in time for the show June 21st" he called me today to explain his issues and asked me "how important is it that the car is ready this week?"

I know you said sometime, but do you have any idea roughly when you'll be going through Indy on Thursday? I should be up there between 2-3 pm depending on if I leave here at 10 am like I'm wanting to and traffic. So if you're going to be hitting Indy around that same time we could meet up and cruise the rest of the way there if you want. Speaking of cruising up there. Sleepy have you decided if you're coming up Thursday night or Friday yet?

Well just remember that you have those black rubber things across the windshield for clearing water of the windshield. They are by a lever on the right side of your steering column. Figured I would remind you since you arent used to that car getting wet.

Even when it does rain i dont use them lol all the water immediately beads off the windshield. :lol:


I won't let it out in the rain, but there is days i risk trying to beat the weather and sometimes I don't succeed.
