My car started just fine leaving for work this morning and then coming home. I went to move my car out of the garage this evening, and the starter wouldn't engage, nor would the radio turn on. I heard the fuel pump prime, but my chimes were non existent, the radio wouldn't turn on, my gauges wouldn't move (fuel or temp), and the only light on the dash was the SES but no codes were thrown. The starter just wouldn't engage. I do have an aftermarket radio but have never had any problems like this in over 3 years. Passlock has been disabled as well.

I pulled the radio fuse (passenger side panel) and put it back in. Immediately I heard my chimes cycle. I tried to start the car and it started right up.

Anyone have any ideas what it could be?

When mine did something like that, it was the battery.

Check your trip odometer, was it reset?

Check your battery terminals and battery itself (as in take it to your local parts store for testing).

^^ Yes, could be a loose ground connection at the battery ;)

Trip odometer was not reset. Will have the battery tested. Thanks for the suggestions.

I also back the bad ground, There is a splice pack right were the starter is and if it isn't grounded none of the cluster gauges work and the starter doesn't engage. Does it 'tick' when you try to start it? Also if not does the check engine light come on when you turn the key all the way over?
