Guys, I was able to cut a deal to get Indiglow gauges. These are not the Halo gauges I have been selling, since they don't make them any more, but they are full glow gauges. I will be selling them for $35 shipped if you pre-buy or $40 after the prebuy period.

PM me if you're interested.

someone needs to change his oil. are the color on these adjustable like with the halo gauges that were advertised before? not really digging the teal as much as the blue.

Naich
12-02-2003, 10:01 PM
yeah, the color is adjustable.... it goes from blue to green.

how are they driving at night? I would think they would get kinda annoying because the whole gauge face is lit

Naich
12-06-2003, 04:16 PM
they are allright. I don't have these style gauges personally, but my fiance's Echo has indiglow gauges stock, and it doesn't get annoying. You would probably be well-served to paint the needle black to it contrasts the color of the gauges.

Orion

Can u change the color with a dial of some sort, or do you have to play with different light bulbs or what? Are these hard to install, and do they come with instructions or does someone already have some made up or what? I am ordering them anyhow, i PMed ya dude.

Naich
12-09-2003, 01:08 PM
These don't work with light bulbs. Think of indiglow watches from timex... the material they are made of glows when stimulated with electricity. They have controls to adjust the brightness and color. They can go from all the way off to all the way bright and everywhere in between, and from green to blue.

Anyone who wants them, paypal $35 (or $39 USD if you're Canadian) to npbamond@optonline.net

Orion

I am paying now :P

Naich
12-10-2003, 10:43 AM
Ok, I officially have 1 paid order. I am going to need around 10 or so paid orders to put the order in... so if you want these, paypal $35 US or $39 USD if you live in Canada to npbamond@optonline.net

there not that annoying, I mean sometimes they can be b/c they are pretty bright. If they really get to me I just turn them off or switch to a darker color, the dark blue is the best looking IMO.

Umm wait a sec, i got to wait till we have 10 orders to get mine ? go back to that other post and PM those ppl

I'd like to get in on this deal. Would I beable to pay once we get enough people for the order to put it? Theres only one person so far, I just don't wanna pay if it's not gonna happen. If you really need it now I'll send it. How do they look with the aluminum gauge bezel?

Naich
12-11-2003, 01:41 PM
K Dan, the order is going through, it just depends on how long it will till take to be able to place the order. I can't afford to lay out $700 (especially this time of year) to keep an inventory of these things. The faster I get 10 paid preorders, the faster they will be able to be ordered and shipped out.

I have done preorders about 5 times now, and sold somewhere around 100 sets of these gauges in total, so it is reliable.

If I can't get enough preorders, I will find a way to get Orion his gauges without a group buy, even if I lose money on it.

Naich
12-11-2003, 01:42 PM
the problem with "can I pay once we have enough people" is that people wind up not paying because no one wants to take the first step. If I can't deliver the goods I will either take a loss on them and get them anyway, or refund your money.

Big Poppa Naich, I just sent you the money. I figured you'd collect all the money before placing the order, I just wasn't sure if this deal was still goin on, since it didn't look like there was much interest. Thanks for the awesome price though!

Thanks K Dan. I just received notificiation. We're 1/5 of the way there in 2 days! If you are thinking about buying these, get in on them soon because this is most likely going to be the last group buy!

How easy is the install? Approximately how long does it take, and what cutting or modifying is involved? Any information is appreciated.

Naich
12-15-2003, 10:41 AM
the installation is fairly easy. I would estimate around 30 minutes, if you have never taken apart the dash before.

Basically, you unscrew 8 bolts, pop open a couple of clips that hold your gauges together (they separate into 1/2's) and lay these over the old gauges. You do not have to take off the needles to install them, which makes it a lot easier. Wiring, I used the power wire to the cubby hole light (I wanted to kill that light anyway) and grounded it to the big bolt behind the gauges. Hope this helps.

here is a couple install pics. these things are easy to install.
just use scotch pernament double sided tape, and splice into the light in the cubby hole under the A/C controls.

nope, it would require them to make a whole new production run, and there is not enough demand. These, however, do have the km/h band on the inside of the gauges.

K Dan
12-16-2003, 12:17 AM
did u have to do anything to turn off the backlighting on the stock gauges? the numbers and needle look black? and they just lay over the stock gauges? good because I messed up the calibration of the needles on my old car putting aftermarket gauges in lol only good thing was I got replace them w/ some nice autometer ones hehe

Naich
12-16-2003, 12:54 AM
He painted his needles black. I suggest doing this with these gauges, because it looks awesome. You don't have to take off the needles to install the gauges... you can just slide them over the needles, and use double sided tape to hold it in place. You don't need to take the bulbs out of the stock gauges, because I think it would throw a code with no bulbs in there.

Naich

what is the website? I prefer the analog dial.

I am going to set a date for ordering these gauges... January 3. So, if anyone is undecided about these, Jan 3 is the last day to order.

Yes, I can.... I send all my stuff through the US Postal Service Priority Mail... I work for the USPS, and Priority mail is the cheapest and most reliable method for fast shipping IMO.

APO addresses shouldn't be a problem.

Just a reminder... tomorrow Jan 5 @ 11:59 PM EST will be the deadline to place your orders. After that, you will get stuck paying higher costs. If I ever sell these again (not very likely) they will be more $ due to the extraordinary effort it takes to coordinate group buys.

When should we expect to receive these gauges? I'm just curious, no rush. B)

Naich
01-12-2004, 08:44 AM
I have ordered them already, and I expect I should have them either at the end of the week, or very early next week. I will post again once they arrive.

If anyone is still interested, I had to order 2 extra sets with my own $ to get a price so I wouldn't be losing money on this order... so I have 2 more sets for sale for $35 each. First to send the money paypal to npbamond@optonline.net will get them.

So that leaves one? I'm seriosly considering... but bright lights give me migraines, and I drive a lot in the dark.

Naich
01-12-2004, 01:47 PM
Well, the gauges have a built in dimmer, that lets you control the brightness. Also, if you wire it to a power source that dims with your stock dimmer switch (like the cubby light) it will dim with the stock interior light dim switch.

evilinside09
01-12-2004, 02:57 PM
naich, did you get my pm? i have the money now so i'll take the last set off of your hands if you didn't already count mine in.

Naich
01-12-2004, 03:11 PM
I only counted the people who already paid... I can't afford to go on peoples word. I'm very sorry, but I just can't personally afford to. I have 1 set left, so whoever paypals the money to me first will get it.

If you really want a set, I could possibly get one more, but it might take longer to receive and ship.

Wow! That sucks I missed all this, you could've counted on me, well for informations sake, will someebody answer a few questions.

The install sounds easy enough, but what all do youhave to install? Where does this dimmer switch go? Are they white when turned off? Can you turn them off?

If someone were to give a full review i thin kit would help convince the buyers to commit - I'm gonna look at the other gauges, but please post here again if you are still selling them

And thanks for th eopputunity too, tht's might nice of you

You have to install each gauge overlay, and wire it all in (along with the dimmer switch) I tapped into the wire that goes to the light bulb in the center cubby hole, since it only comes on with the dash lights. You can put the dimmer switch anywhere, but most either put it in the change cup on the left of the driver, or in the cubby hole in the middle. Yes they are white when the lights are not on.

These are the best ones I've seen, much nicer than the regular indiglow (non-halo).

Naich
01-18-2004, 01:32 PM
3.4, these are the non-halo. Halos aren't made any more :(

I think I still have one set of these left by the way... I'll have to look at my sales records, but I am 99% sure that 9 were sold and I ordered 10 sets. I still havn't received them yet, but they should be here monday (or Tuesday if UPS doesn't deliver on Martin Luther King Day).

Check this out... this batch has newer controllers. They're pretty cool! Smaller and easier to use. One side has a toggle switch to pick blue or green, and the other side has a dial to adjust brightness.

Naich
01-21-2004, 03:06 PM
Allright, after making out the shipping list... I discovered that I only had 7 paid orders (there were 2 others but they were resultant from someone who screwed up their account, and the charge got reversed, but it made it look like 2 more entries. Luckily, I had money in my account from aother auction, so I still ordered 10.

I have 3 sets of gauges left. First 3 to paypal npbamond@optonline.net will get them.

I'm interested in the last set. i just pm'ed you naich. have a question for you or anyone, do ya think you can cut the top half of the small guages off so the warning lights sections don't glow?? know what i mean?

Naich
02-06-2004, 04:44 PM
I havn't tried cutting the top part off, and I wouldn't suggest trying it.

Qcksilver
02-06-2004, 07:05 PM
Do you think it wouldn't glow anymore or something? What kind of material is it made out of? I want the 4 guages to glow but just not the two warning light sections. Any ideas??

Naich
02-06-2004, 10:04 PM
I don't know what its made of, but it is electroluminescent, and I think if you cut the material it might make the whole thing not work. I really don't know, they might work, but I wouldn't be willing to spend the money and try it. I know a few guys have used tint to cover the tops, so they're not visible durring the day, but they still glow through at night.

The Halo style gauges I used to sell don't glow on the warning lights, but unfortunately, they don't make that style any more, unless I get 50 prepaid orders... which isn't happening.

Naich
02-09-2004, 05:39 PM
