Cowl hood update.

Well, its going in for paint tomorrow or monday i think. Body shop just finished the repairs from when it was in an accident. And rounded off the ends for me where the damage was on the corners. They have done great work so far, also fixed around all around the hoods lip(s) because some areas were rough so now they are nice and smooth. Looks good so far, paint to come with updated pics once i get the hood back (maybe next week sometime)

Looks good other than that small separation on the corner in the last picture.... i just noticed it, hopefully that gets filled....

I noticed that too in person, it kinda looks like seperation. But i felt that in person with my nail and didnt feel a "crack" idk if it is, im sure he will be going over it one more time before it goes for paint.

Where did you find that hood? Other than here and the alero page on fb i can't seem to find good sources for exterior stuff. Ebay has the spyder hood, but Im not a fan. Really want a cowl hood, might just buy a cowl Anna do the prep myself and glass it to the stock hood.

These no longer exist. Very hard to come by.

They were part of a group buy back around 2005 or so. There were 12 hoods made. 9 were fiberglass, 3 were fiberglass frame and carbon fiber skin, like sleepy's.

All 3 CF hoods still exist. Sleepy, myself and tw0123 all have one. A few of the fiberglass hoods have been destoyed

Actually there was 4 cf ones... One got thrown out.

And there is one steel hood, which to my knowledge still exists somewhere. And was used to make the molds.

Does anyone know the weight of the CF or Fiberglass hood? I would be curious how much it actually saves. It does look sick though!
