yes this is specific for the 2.2L ecotech

These cars tend to be picky about having either ac delco or ngk (ac delcos are made by ngk). I haven't had issues with how it runs with others, but I have never gotten good fuel efficiency out of others either. The 2.2l seems to be a little less sensitive to other brands than the 3.4l though.

Bosch products are usually good products, but as I said your car probably won't perform optimally with them.

well i used the bosch +4 in my grand prix with a 3.8L but i also had a spark plug core with that car

To be honest, I am not really a fan of Bosch spark plugs. A quick google search will show many people's negative opinions about them. I went for the NGK Iridiums. I don't buy spark plugs every day, they are only four, might as well go for the best NGK has to offer (I think).

If you want a plug that conducts more electricity, go for copper.

If you want a long life plug, go for platinum.

If you want a bit of both, go for iridium.

You will not really see much, if any, of a performance improvement with spark plugs though.

I used some performance spark plugs once. I do not remember the name, they may have been NGK, but they ended up causing issues down the road. Unless you are running a tune and whatnot, I suggest just running the stock AC Delco's.

NGK, I believe make AC Delco plugs. 03glgold also stated this earlier in this thread. Maybe you had used another plug? I have run NGK copper, platinum, and iridium on my Ecotec Alero, and have never had issues with them. Copper just require more of a regular maintenance, but I always changed the copper ones before I had any issues.

If you want. That is what I am using on my Ecotec Alero, and I have had zero issues. Also, after many plug failures on his motorcycle, my dad switched to NGK Iridiums, and has yet to replace them.

GM cars don't seem to like anything other than that.

My Alero missed all the time with the Bosch +4's. I also bought a cheaper plug for my old Delta with the stock 307. Missed like crazy and had to be towed. The 1968 olds 350, with mid 1970's style ign i put in that car didn't like something other than stock.

Didn't take any chances with my Olds 330 build. OE 1967 style ACDelcos ;)

I love Bosch automotive products, but I would not use their spark plugs in any car unless they came from the factory with them. Their other stuff besides spark plugs is pretty good though.

I would also jump in with ACDelco's or NGK's for GM vehicles. I've tried some other brands and they never lasted or caused weird misfires/idle stumbling almost immediately.

NGK is a pretty solid choice for most vehicle brands (most conventional passenger car and trucks anyway) and are easy to find and are cheaper for the most part.

i installed the bosch +4 sparkplugs in my alero, my car runs great right now. my car has 135K miles and no issues on my end. i also used spark plug gel on my spark plug connectors, maybe its necessary for them to run right. i use it mostly for thruway use.

I run Autolite double platinums in my 3.4 and they have worked just fine for 40,000 miles. It's a plug. It creates a spark. It will work. Plugs with more then 1 electrode are just a gimmick. The spark will ground to the electrode with the shortest gap until it erodes away and then move onto the next closest.

another one for NGK plugs. I ran them in my 2.2l alero, my 5 2.3l saab ecotechs, my Jeep, and currently have a set of iridium in my 3.4l alero. I typically go with copper plugs, especially on a 4cyl since they are so easy to replace. but I put iridiums in my 3.4l since it is a bigger pain to replace the rear plugs. The only real difference in plugs is copper = ~30k mile service life, platinum = 75k miles, and iridium = ~100k+ service life. there isn't a quality difference between them. They all do exactly the same thing, and as long as they have the correct gap, then any performance/fuel economy difference is because you're driving differently/you believe the advertising.

Love the iridium just put them in my fusion. Part number: TR55IX for the 3.4. Non-iridium is TR55. They are a bit pricey. I get lucky with my job and get them for $4.45 a pop.

yes 0 issues, im not sure what NGK is but i do 80MPH in my alero on the thruway no problem. it starts up less then a second after i turn the key.
