Drove the Alero around the neighborhood today, and suddenly, the brake pedal goes to the floor. Found the culprit, rusted line by the driver's side rear door. In lieu of trying to get a whole new brake line, I'll be doing what my dad did on his car. Cutting out the rusted section, flaring the line and splicing in a new section.
I'm just thankful it happened in the neighborhood, where I was only going about 10 mph and not on the highway.

Just happened a little while ago. I'll try to get pics tomorrow when it's light out again.
Glad I have the Bravada. One thing they certainly did right with the Bravada is tarring the frame, underbody and brake lines.

Wound up replacing the line from the pass rear caliper up to the abs module. Double flared everything, just need to gravity bleed the brakes and I'll be one step closer to getting 26+mpg instead of 18 or so with the SUV.

just fyi... he emergency brake is on a cable n should be able to stop you regardless of what happened to the hydraulics.
I had this happen once on a highway in a different car.... that was when we had an emergence brake peddle instead of the center lever. I held the release up as I stepped on the peddle and brought the car to a safe stop.

That's what I used to get it back home. Just kept using that when pulling up to speed bumps.
