Well here's the proof of my 2003 Alero joining the 200,000 mile club. I've done a fair amount of work to it and it's been a good car. I bought it with 130k and a bad intake gasket.

So far I've done:
Intake gasket
Plugs and wires
Thermostat
MAF sensor
EGR
ECT
Belt with idlers and tensioners
Battery Optima 34/78
Alternator
Starter
Tie rod ends
Rear Monroe Quik-Struts
Front Control arms and sway bar links (poly)
Both Front wheel bearings (Timkin)
Hazard switch
Multi-function switch
All the exterior lights
Full stereo system upgrade with Pioneer headunit/speakers
800 watt JVC amp with 2 - 12" MTX subs

Not too shabby for a car with that kind of miles

If mine was still a DD, it would be close, but still not 200

In that case... if My car was still around I am sure my 99 would be in the 200k club....

I had mine replaced around 180,000. Then again, I had damage to the entire steering system. I sold mine with around 235,000. Apparently, the kid drove it back and fourth from school only for 1 week and the exhaust fell off. It sounded like he blew out the piston seals as well. I would not have expected anything like this out of that car. Its sad, I can only hope he got it fixed and the car isn't dead somewhere.
Looking good :thumb:

Mine has 285,000 miles.

Aside from maintenance, what I've replaced
-battery
-catalytic converter
-outer tie rod ends
-several tires
-egr valve
-pcv valve
-MAF sensor
-MAP sensor
-hubs all around
-brake lines from ABS unit all the way back

Some other things I may not remember. The guy I bought it from was really up on his maintenance, included a book with all maintenance written down. He was really on it, too. If he stopped at a gas station and put air in the tires, he wrote it down.

That guy was the original owner. Even had the original title from 1999.

A well documented 285,000 mile 2 owner alero? Can't be many of those. 99% of surviving alero's are just trashed. Same for any intrigues I see around.
