After 15 years I had to replace the O.E. Goodyear eagle LS's

I went with Kelley (owned by Goodyear) HP edge. Only a hand full of miles they seem to run smooth and straight.

I really did not want run those eagles 8.5 hours each way to the nationals this year!

$385.00 installed for 4 P225-50-16

The Stock Goodyear Eagles lasted 18 years on my car and still looked pretty good when I replaced them. I only got rid of them because I figured 18 years was enough. the cracks in them really weren't even that bad.

Tires that old generally speaking are not that safe. Most tire manufacturers and car companies recommend not exceeding 6-7 years none the less 18.

I sure as hell wouldn't trust them.

hahahaha my OEM tires lasted about 10 years..(2000 alero 2.4 4dr) but I hardly drove the car (public transport to n from work) But I do ahve to say the old tires did very well in rain n snow when I took her winter camping in the mountains, Catskills.

I had to replace the tires because I dented the rims in a huge pot hole that ate my car up. I then got coopers, the high speed version, n those were so much better than any tires Ive ever had on any of my cars. they gripped like billy goats in any condition.

my son has the car now n he replaced the old tires with the cheapest ones he could get... but in brooklyn, the longest trip the car makes is form side to side fro alternate parking n the occasional trip to me... 20 miles away.

Yeah that's ridiculous. Doesn't matter if you hardly drove the car, the materials deteriorate and you risked not only yours but everyone else's lives on the road driving on tires that outdated. That's why you see so many tires shredded and blown apart on the highway.

Also, never understood why people cheap out on tires. They're your only contact with the ground. You want them to be the best they can be to maximize your ability to control the vehicle. You buy them once every who knows how long, a few extra hundred bucks goes a long way in increasing performance and safety for the next few years you use them.

Michelin Pilot Sport 4S is the answer for cars not used in snow/freezing weather.
