Hi!
I'm from Germany,and I've got a 1999 "Chevrolet-Alero".
In Germany the Olds was sell as Chevy.
Now I want to go to the brand Oldsmobile. I must change the front-emblem and the rear-writing-logo and emblem in original OLDS-parts. How can I get this.
Many thanks..
greetings from Germany. B)

welcome to the site, werent you on here a year ago?? :D as far as the emblems go, im sure some of us that have de-badged our cars can help ya out with that one, i know i have one available from the trunk...
on a side note, was it an option in germany to get the 3.4 v6 and manual??...i think the opel vectra uses the same motor and put a manual behind it instead of an auto, but i wasnt sure about the alero

welcome to the site my euro-lero buddy. :popcorn:
Well so far theres about 5 internatinoal Aleros on this board. 2 in croatia, 1 in germany, 1 in sweeden, 1 in poland. lets see grand-am'ers do that. :thumbsup:
You can get them from a dealer in germany somewhere. My buddy had the chevy symbol and bought the olds badges somewhere in austria.

Hi!
Thanks for the welcome!
@jturkey69-Yes, I was here time ago. No, the 3.4 wasn't sell with manual, but the option was listed. The Opel... I don't know about the engines.
The 3.4 is a so called "Big-Block" in Germany. A few people buy such engine.
@FormulaNERD-Danke. Alles bestens.
@vtolds-I will take some pictures, and show it.
@mobs241-What's the meaning of sheistenkolf. Thank's for your work.
@redog-thanks
@Crolero-Thanks, I want to get this original, and for a good price. The prices in Germany aren't not so good for these parts.
@Crazytaxi37-thanks
And to all others...................... Thanks and...
Greetings from Germany.

Wow, A German Alero.
So whats it's top speed? We all have limiters on our cars here. We can't go past 108mph (or so). I figure there must be no limiter since you have the autobahn and all.
FormulaNERD

that's silly Malero.
we have a top speed limiter because of the speed rating on stock tires. nothing to do with how fast the car will go, or how fast we're allowed to go.
but, having said that, i also wouldnt be surprised if he didnt have a limiter. even with the same tires, because of different laws.

hey buddy welcome aboard...i know some german, but only to speak it not to write it. If you are still in need of the badges, let me know and I can hook you up cheaper than any place else. You just let me know what you need and I will take care of you.

Thats all true, but we only have those tires cause they are cheaper to for GM to install and since we have speeds limits, we don't need unlimited cars.
I hope that GM put better tires with no limiter on cars out there.

From the site listed above:
Front Suspension MacPherson strut, Coil spring, Trailing-arm, Stabilizer bar
Rear Suspension: MacPherson strut, Coil spring, Double wishbone, Stabilizer bar
:rolleyes: The front suspenion doesnt use a trailing arm for a lower link, it's a simple A-arm, and the rear suspenion definately does NOT use double wishbones... it's 2 lateral links and a trailing arm at the bottom, and a strut for an upper link.
But that's not the point... the point is this guy wants some olds emblems, and lets face it, those chevy ones are damn ugly... does anybody have their olds symbols lying around? I know there are quite a few people who have shaved them... maybe they could send them over to germany and just have ChevyAlero paypal him the shipping costs or something. Seems like the most simple solution to this, if anybody has their emblems still lying around...

i have the rear olds symbol somewhere, and i just found the word "oldsmobile" that goes in the right corner of the trunk. if i can find the olds symbol i took off a while back, he can have them, he just needs the front emblem.

if you already have your pics "scanned" onto your computer all you have to do when posting a message is go to the box "browse"(under file attachments) and find your pic. :thumbsup:
make sure your pics are not saved to .bmp.
i prefer saving them to .jpg. i think .bmp is too big to work.

that chevy logo just looks out of place, replacing them is a very good idea!! And ya, i thought the current GM stuff was poop, but now they are selling Daewoo? thats not right. i think someone needs to look into product quality around there.

the euro car has the chevy emblems on it only in the front and the back. everything else is the olds emblem. rim covers, air bag, etc.

avengers or stealth? i've seen a few stealths with 3000gt logos. but never an avenger trying to look like something else, other than a viper of course.

So I guess the "EURO" edition I bought up here in Canada is an actual European model (minus the chevy emblems). I thought they were just trying to give it a fake european look.

And one more: What are the best wheels (tires) for winter, I must replace my originals.
Thanks very much!

3.4 Euro Alero
10-13-2004, 01:46 PM
I would definitely recommend sticking with OEM (GM)steel rims for the winter, since I went through 3 sets of Jobber (Aftermarket) rims and had horrible vibrations with every one. I have been driving on Michelin Arctic Alpins for 2 winters now and they have been great! The only complaint I have is that when driving in wet conditions, the water coming off them "hums or whistles" in the wheel wells. If they do not use salt instead of actually plowing the snow where you are, then you should not have any problems.

Hi, again! :thumbsup:
Can someone tell me the part-numbers of the Olds-logos. Then I can try to get them on gmpartsdirect.
Again: The Front-logo, the Heck-logo(over ALERO) and the OLDSMOBILE-letters on the rear.
Thanks very much. ;)

Thanks Youngblood. Most people that see the car here in the city like the turn signals, but they haven't been much of a hit here on ALEROMOD.
B.T.W. the bra is gone and was replaced by a GM Hood Deflector. They are actually really nice compared to aftermarket ones, and even say Alero in small near the corner.
She is not nearly as modded as most on this site, but hard to do with our climate and conditions here up north. Finally did get Tips and mesh in front of the fogs though (has saved a chipped lens already)!
Has anyone got your part numbers yet ChevyAlero? If not, I can get you the Canadian part numbers if you like.
