Can anyone here tell me in some detail how I remove the passenger seat and the back part of the rear seats that fold down.

the passenger seat just move all the way forward....two bolts in the rear....then pull back and lift up.......as far the back part of the rear seats....fold down both sides you may have to elevate the side you are taking out a little more....look where the two seats halves meet...there is a metal bracket holder thingy... ...anyways.....just slide back the clip one side will pop right out and then just pull out...very easy...i have done this numerous times at the track.....well the rear seat.....i am usually late and make mike do the front seat...FYI it's easier to get the front seat out if you take the headrest off first....for that just give it a good yank....if you have any problems just post back and i can probably help you out...

sorry to bring up such an old thread...but do you have any idea what size torx bit this would use? (for the front)

nevermind. It's T-50.

back seats are the easiest...no unbolting really on the 4-door (just those side panels/shoulder cushions)

but CHRIST! I found 6 bucks in change under the seat. lol

BUMP.
im really trying to get this done this afternoon. if all goes well ill update the 'build log' thread. i got the seatbelts off and removed the top layers of trim but the seats need to be off to get the rest of the paneling off

I see no photo except the Epic Fail pic. what part of the seats are you having issues with?

i see the pic but not what your asking about?, i know the bolts are easier to get too if you take teh bottom of the rear seat out, thats best done by feeling for the slit in the on each side of the seat, pressing in with a screw driver and pulling up, you can just yank it up

ive done this. i just need the top part of the seats out now to take the rest of the trim out. according to all the pages i found in the search its pretty simple. and i just dont get it :Rage:

there's the "axle" that the seat backs hinge on. if you look between the halves of the seat back, there is little "claws" (really not sure how else to describe it) that are holding the "axle" on the seat back. if you use a screwdriver, you can pry open the claws and pull the axles out, and the other sides will just slide out. It's ALWAYS tricky the first time. Once you figure it out, you'll do a facepalm.

it had these two metal rods that are up against it vertically pretty tight. i managed to pry one up kinda far but if it was the wrong part i didnt want to fk it up permanently. is that the one?

its like 4 bolts if i'm remembering right, one on each side, and two nearer the split

im aware of the bolts but according to every thread ive searched theres a way thats 500x easier

you don't need to unscrew any bolts at all...except for the side pads.

that last pic shows the hooks and pegs (claws and axles in my previous post...I really don't know what to call them).

It turns out those hooks aren't THAT hard to push...but they can be stubborn.
