My name is Philip and I'm from Beaumont, TX. I have a 2000 4-dr Alero GLS V6.
Mechanically my car is fine, but my interior is having problems, so I decided to gut the inside and start my mods there.
Is there any type of custom cover that you can put on your dash that looks good? I've seen the "rugs for your dash" that look like crap.
Can't wait to hear the info. I'm really excited about the work on my car.

Talk soon....

The sun/heat has caused the leather (i suppose it's leather) to raise up away from the dash near the windshield. It's peeling up about half way across the dash and getting worse.

Have you tried glueing it back down?

lol...there was no way to apply enough pressure in enough spots to make it really stick down. I'm open to any suggestions. The only thing I can think of is finding a wrecked one and getting the dash off of it. I can't find anything OEM or aftermarket for replacing the dash.
BTW..Thanks for your help.

I guess you could get one from trashed Alero or you could buy a new one I guess.

Look in to fiberglassing your dash. I havent done it my self, but reading some of the info from Aftermath alero on here it doesnt seem like it would be too rough. I plan on starting with fiberglass on the doors sometime soon. Good Luck!

Yeah you could fiber glass the whole top of your dash would be lots of work and isnt for someone to just do it. I think it would probably be easier for you just to replace it.

Welcome to the site. The best would be to just get one from a written off alero and put it in. Otherwise it is lots of work to fiberglass it. I know my uncle had his interior dash and other stuff fiberglassed and it took a lot of work. Might be a little different with an Alero but it still would be a lot of work, plus the nasty smell of fiberglass.

Thanks so much for everyone's help. I finally searched through the old threads and found the ones I needed. Looks like my dash lasted about 6 months longer than most others!! lol
