I got new tires over the summer and we just hada little snow up here this week and THESE THINGS SUCK!!!! Last year I had the stock Eagle RSA's that had 30k miles on them and they were pretty good in the snow. I had to replace them over the summer and got Pirrelli P6000 Sport Veloce and they're horrible. They're good in the rain but when i was driving in the snow I'd slide all over the place just changing lanes. And the snow was nothing compared to what we usually get later on. I don't wanna buy 4 new tires, if I just put 2 snow tires up front will that help?

if they are that bad then i would say get all 4. because bad tires on the rear can cause sliding around curves

yeah, I would go for 4. Altough fun, oversteer can be dangerous.

I agree with everyone, if the tires you have now were decent in the snow, snows on the front would be fine, but what you have described that's a whole different story.

Coming from a guy who did a complete 180 in the snow around a curve going 10 mph in my old buick, definately get 4 snow tires if your tires are that bad. Tire rack actually has some good deals on all 4 tires with steelies. Click on the link on the homepage to buy them and help out the site :)

Well theres no way in hell I can afford the 16" package. Would 15" fit without problems? tirerack has a 205/65 and a 215/60 packages, which one would be better?

Go with 4 if you can, I finally broke down and got another 2. Going with 2 is fine for driving in a straight line, until you want to stop. Corners, parking lots... lots of fun, and a little scary.
I have Cooper Weathermasters that were pretty cheap. You can mount 'em on your wheels, or I'd get the 15" package.

i would get all four for sure. Not safe for just front and back to be that poor in snow.

I noticed that my tail end breaks lose on turns in the snow, almost like a rear drive car. I'd say get all 4

Skinnier the better in the snow. A wide tire will just make you float on top of the snow (Think Snow Shoes).
I have 195/65R15 on my car.....looks funny, but I'll be ripping through the snow
