I've noticed about a month ago till now, every time I start my car and it's somewhat cold out and the motor's cold...under moderate acceleration, my coolant light will turn on then turn off in about 2 seconds. It is really strange..idk what it is...the car runs fine and the engine temp is normal. I wonder if I need a coolant flush..it has like 50,000 mi on it and i dont think it's ever been flushed...might be a good idea b4 winter hits. Has anyone else had this problem? Also, the coolant level is fine..right at normal!

yea man, coolant doesnt just dissapear, it doesnt dissipate, the only reason that light pops on is ur coolant is low, and it has to have went somewhere, its not certain but keep an eye on that spot right above where ur tranny fill point is, to see if you see any kind of fluid or leak of any kind, id recomend getting it fixed asap if thats the problem you have........

If you don't have the "leak" you may just need more coolant.

Same thing happened to my parents Cavy with the 2.2 (Non-Ecotec) motor and on turns the light would come on due to the coolant going below the sensor

happened with me too, then my engine started smoking, took it into the shop and it turned out i had a blown valve gasket or something of that nature... not cool

Sounds like the leak. Been there, done that. :( I hope you still have some warantee left 1White, I just got done dealing with the leak. ( $550.00 out of pocket ) That's why I've been a broke bitch, otherwise I woulda bought that exhaust from you sooner.

Yeah I just had the leak this summer, sounds like exactly what happened to me, and yeah I had to replace the waterpump, which is PITA on the 2.4 so I had a shop do it, we had to lay down almost 600 for the job.

well...i just added a little bit more coolant to the tank and it fixed it...so hopefully it'll just stay full now lol...there better not be a leak..there's never been any dripping under my car or anything when it's sitting and running in my driveway so I don't think there's a leak.
