Just thought ya'll might like to know, our friends at the Tire Rack now carry Hawk HPS brake pads to fit FACTORY Alero calipers. These pads work great, and I use them year-round on my car (incidentally, rear Hawk HPS pads for a 99-03 Grand Prix fit perfectly also). Probably the best compromise between streetability and trackworthy-performance I've come across.

What type of material is it? I thought ceramic pads were the best for streetability and track-use, is this more or less true?
Really the best rotor for track and street use is carbon-ceramic, because they work at all temperatures, are lighter and can absorb more heat than iron, but they're very expensive and nobody would make them for a ho-hum alero, so I suppose that's a moot point.
