I'm currently waiting to hear from Andy's Autosport about the Weapon-R fuel pressure regulator that I ordered from them a month ago. Anyway.. I am somewhat new to the fitting sizes and names of the fuel rail port (the one with the o-ring) and threaded ports. I've read up on something like "AN #6" and specific engine codes for adapters. I found one from HKS Fuel Rail Adapter (http://www.hksusa.com/products/?id=1464) that says "13B-REW / SR20 / RB26" so I was wondering if any of you knew the engine code of the Alero 2.4L automatic and/or if this piece is actually compatible with the rail at all.

be carefull with the FPR, I got an aftermarket one, and I couldn't find out how to install the gauge. I ended up running rich, burnt up my cat, and slowed me way down, but I didn't know how to use it, so make sure you know what your doing.

I've researched it enough (I hope).
I know that I'm supposed to take the vacuum line off of the stock regulator to simulate wide open throttle before adjusting the pressure.

you would think that the regulator would be set out of the factory to atleast GM factory settings so you can install it and run it and tune it from there.

That HKS one you found most likely wont work with our engine. HKS mostly makes parts for imports seeing that its a japanese company. the 13b is the mazda rx-7 rotary engine, the sr20 is from a nissan silvia or 240sx and the rb26 is from the skyline. LD9 is the engine code for the 2.4L GM engine. if you're looking for a direct fit FPR i know PFYC has one for our engine. here's a link:
PFYC Fuel Pressure Regulator (http://www.pfyc.com/store/merchant.mv?Screen=PROD&Store_Code=PFYC&Product_Code=GA3005&Product_Count=4&Category_Code=ALUNDER)

to use an aftermarket FPR other than the one from PFYC you need this to make it work.
http://www.induction-dynamics.com/fpr_replacement.html
the one from hks won't work for our motor.

Alright, cool. I should be getting the part from some guy that Induction Dynamics referred me to in a couple weeks. By the way.. I seem to have forgotten what the stock fuel pressure is for the 2.4 Alero.. was it 40 psi?

I thought it was lower, like around 38.

Oldsman, if I got that thing you showed from Induction Dynamics, is it a replacement for what I have, or an adapter so i can make what I have work with the gauge properly???

it is so you can use other brands of aftermarket FPR. those are external, meaning not fitting on the fuel rail like stock.
what you have won't work with the adaptor because yours is made to fit on the end of the fuel rail rather than external.

so the question on the gauge still puzzles me, someone told me to just put it on the opposite end of the fuel rail, like put the T connection right on the fuel rail. I'll try this in the next week or so and see how it works I guess.

what you do is the fuel line coming off the fuel rail oppsite of the FPR, you cut the line and put the T in. Or you can pull the fuel rail off and drill and tap it so the gauge will screw into the fuel rail. make sure you deburr the hole very well and clean it out very well also.

I should be getting the Induction Dynamics adapter in the next few days. Then I'll need some extra fuel hoses and fittings.... and if Andy's Autosport would send the damn fuel pressure regulator that I ordered at the beginning of November. I really don't recommend them to anyone because this is rediculous.

Anyone educated in the measurement system used here?
-6 AN (What does "AN" stand for? and what is the 6 for? Is there any way to convert this into inches or mm?)
1/8" FPT (what is FPT?)
I just want to know what to get before I buy the hoses and adapters.

If anyone has installed an aftermarket fuel pressure regulator, what kind of fitting do I need to get for the stock aluminum incoming fuel line? Would a barb fitting work? I already have a universal adjustable regulator, the induction dynamics fuel rail adapter, and I'm designing a setup with some 3/8" NPT to 6-AN adapter fittings that I will order from Jeg's. Yes, I know that I also need a fuel pressure gauge. I have created a setup design without needing to implement a braided fuel line.
EDIT-Nevermind, I found the aluminum line fitting.. if anyone wants to know anyway.. the one I'm getting is a Russell Aluminum Fuel Line Adapter which crimps onto the aluminum incoming fuel line and allows for a threaded fitting.
