Can You Recommend A Headunit?

Looking for a mad cheap one (<$100) with a red background/ tone(not that important). Needs nothing but cd and radio, and would like one that can tolerate some sort of subwoofer-line-out (or amp?) as well as the normal 4 speakers.


Another question, how easy are these things to install? I dont want to pay someone good money to install a unit that all i'd have to do is unscrew and wire in relatively easily.....but then again, I do not know that much....

SONY X-plod just over $100.00 more like $130.00 I have one I love it, others on Aleromod dont but who cares its what you want and what you can afford. As far as mounting it is easy just pop the molding off around it unscrew the old one the reverse to install, you also have to mount the 1.5 din bracket so the .5 din headunit will fit and also install a wiring harness which is color coded. So you will be looking at $150.00 dollars in total I payed over $40.00 just for the bracket and wiring harness. Also in some years the door chimes and stuff are biult intot he radio there is a harness to replace them but most rig there old headunit in the trunk.

Yeah thats what I thought and if you cant find the Mounting bracket for the Aleo like I couldnt The one for the GA is the same but the wiring harness is different.

check out ebay, pioneer, kenwood, alpine, clarion........all good units that you can find on ebay for about 100 bucks......i think the kenwood would have the face color you want, with all the wire adapters, installation kit and antenna adapter its going to be a lil bit more.....

here you go man, everything you need set up in an auction.........and 5 bucks is a dang good price......just make sure you dont have the monsoon set up........you know the amp in the back, if you dont than id definately get in on that auction....

I've had a couple diffrent head units and my favorite by far is my current one. I have the panasonic mp3/cd etc. ~~~the ebay add i listed below is just the cd player + radio, it has preamps for ur system, and has a Super HIgh bass defintion thing that deffintly helps the bass out. I've put in alot of cd players, this one wasn't the easiest i ever put in, had to do some trimming of the trimplate due to some fitting issues, but over all it was easy, i used the same install kit BigD showed u on that auction (plus a set of RCA cables for the preamps), its all pretty easy. neways heres the add if u decide to get it PM me ill give ya any help u need with the install, hell if ur in the cleveland area id be more then willing to put it in for ya.

i would save up some more money and get something more quality... i like mine a lot i have a jvc kd-lhx500 (http://www.cardomain.com/item/JVCKDLHX500?vq_id=none) it's really nice... touch screen and you can change the background colors etc. however that seems to be a bit excessive for you. anyways when you get your unit, i'd get it off sounddomain.com cuz they'll ship you a free installation kit with your purchase

i have a jvcsc500 its real nice you can change the background colors. even red. its 150 at sounddomain.com and it comes with the needed accesseries including the antenna adapter the .5 din bracket and wire harness. also comes with good instructions for easy install in yer car

I just put my sony head unit up on ebay. It has front and rear outputs, but no subwoofer outputs. I just used the rear outputs for the subs.
