Engine Swap?

Last week all my antifreeze leaked into my oil. Needless to say my engine is shot and it cost a poop load of money just to get it going again. Was just wondering what kind of engine will fit in the aleros that has a lot of up and go power. Looking for something up around 3.8L and I don't want to have to have my firewall messed with. Just something we can drop in place of the 3400 I have in there now.

nothing that big without lots of fabrication and money, just buy another low miles 3400 if you don't have a lot of money.....put the new one in youself.....it's not that hard.......that's what i did....

Or you could always toss in a 2.4, and a 5 speed manual.

Have you looked into the 3.5 with the new Malibu? I am not saying it will work but it might be worth looking into. Seems like it should fit but I don't know what else you would need to modify.

3.5 should fit, if the new malibu is considered a H body?

The new malibu is a Z-body. The 3.5 has electric throttle and some other things that would make it work in the car. The controller is different, and the wiring harness is completely different. It would be fun to see done, but it would a a total tear up of the car and not to mention the dollars involved.
