Gauge ?'s New Pics

ok well i got the trans temp hooked up, but its not moving, i made sure i had the right wire as i have 2 left to connect the oil pressure and trans temp, on one wire the needle jumps so slightly, so i figure'd i had the right one.........now i let it idle but im guessing the reason the temp isnt going up is because the cars in park and the gears arent being used?? i just thought id see it move up a lil more even in neutral

my next question for those of you who have installed the oil pressure gauge(i know oldsman has), what size is the socket i need to get the original pressure check sensor off of there.......its pretty big.....and i just want to know when i go down to buy it what size i actually need........

The soonest I can tell you is monday when I get to work, the socket is my tool box?

as for the trans temp guage, drive it until you get to normal operating temp and you should see results.

its over an inch, maybe an 1 1/8, metric wise its probably like 26 or 27.......thanks though......i probably wont get to it til next weekend anyways just cause its suppose 2 rain tomorrow.......

lol its lookin like ur my last hope......is it metric or standard? its gotta be some thing like 1 1/8 or 1 3/16......or around a 25 mm........

yeah i was the same way for a while, i had the boost guage installed, but not working until i got my coolant temp guage in, now i have 4, and will eventually have a total of 6. finding a place to mount the other 2 will be interesting?

yea i agree, once i got these and got them in i was like man i want more, maybe an egt, coolant temperature.........i saw one where he got what i think was a universal dual pod holder and put it in the cubby hole down there......it looked good 2 me.......

i wish they made those gauge trims for our cars like you see a lot on the f250's......, so we could put two gauges on the corners....

And i like what you did with the quick disconnects, i'm gonna change mine now.

how did you mount that one, i like it, i dunno if you could fit two more right there because of the cigarette lighter thing, but another one i think you could.......

and yea the quick disconnect just seemed like it was a must, just incase something stopped working i can un hook and have the whole thing out of there, plus ieither all the wires were perfectly crimped, and i made sure lol or soldered and heat shrink tubing.......i didnt cut no corners cause i didnt wanna hafta pull that thing back out for something stupid.....

but yea i like how you did the 4th gauge.......let me know how you did that and what you used..........im either going to go with an egt or air/fuel, i know the egt is a lil more exact.......but im not going for a race car so it might be a lil overkill.......any suggestions?

I pulled out the radio bezel/cubby hole, carefully looked in the guage via light mount hole and measured where i could safely drill holes, drilled holes in the cubby hole and then the guage then mounted it securely with 2 screws! i had to cut the mounting studs off of the guage though. i ran the tubing and wiring through the light hole for the cubby light. works great!


and i dont use my cig lighter, but i do have underbody led controls in the cubby?

ok i gotta bring this back up, got the stock sender unit off for the oil pressure.....and when i went to thread in the fitting, none worked, the sender itself is too small, and the smallest fitting it came with was too big........

no one mentioned this on the install, i think i got the right plug off, i mean the 1 1/16 socket only fits one of the sensors right there so i figure its right.......did you guys go hafta get fittings? where did you get it at? think home deport would have it??

ok im stupid, found it in another gauge box lol........heres my next question.......it says i should be running 15 psi at 1100 rpm for the 3400, but im running 25 psi at idle......what could be the cause of this? oil change time? too much oil? not enough?

i added 194 led's which keep it much cooler, the pod heated up quick and i didnt like that....with led's it stays nice and cool......

I run about 30 psi at idle and aprox 50 psi at throttle, i think the 15 would be considered minimum.

heres what mine look like. i run about 49 psi at throttle and 30-35 at idle, and about 65 maybe 70 at WOT. im sorry i forgot the exact size of the oil sending socket. i used a deep well spark plug socket but forgot the size. good luck with the fitting on the oil sender, it wasa bitch for me.http://img56.exs.cx/img56/5779/Nov24061.jpg

why yes it is skyler. i left my oil sender out of the socket and its disconnected. in my opinion. the oil sending light is pointle4ss once you get the oil psi gauge. because it replaces it, and you know what oil pressure you are running, and the purpose of the oil sending light is, if it senses low oil pressure (under 10) then the light comes on sayign low oil. so as long as you know your oil pressure theres no reason in having the original oil sending light. also if you want you can always check with the dipstick for low oil and what not.

it was really easy to remove, 1 1/16 deep socket to get the old one out.......then the new one in and run the wire.......

yes it is.... i knew the first part was directed toward me, but i wasnt sure about the second part... you always come to me on aim for help, so i assumed you knew i knew how to replace the oil pressure sender :) i'm just waiting till the next time i change the oil. which is soon.

yea thad be a good time to do it.....im just impatient but lazy too........i got kyb struts and cross drilled rotors in my garage that im being lazy about lol
