OK Redog was bumped in a parking lot and the insurance is saying it's a "collision" not a comp claim

Insurance says it has $414 in damage my dec. is $500

The bumper is scuffed up bad and it's cockedeyed a bit, bulging on one side pulled in on the other

The scuff is only on the back, up closer to the wheel is road salt.

I'll get it fixed. The dog scrathed up the rear bumper a bit anyway so it's an excuse to get it repainted.

I put the dog in the trunk and flod down the seats for 2 reasons

1 more room for him

2 he can damage the leather ;)

Know who did it? It sounds like it's time for plan B. :D In all seriousness Ken, I'm sorry to hear it, man. It sounds like you just need to bite the bullet and pay the $414.00 outta pocket. :(

I found a shop that said $350 so, after vacation I get it fixed. Hey I'll get a free rental car

For 350 you get it done PLUS a rental car? Sounds like a good deal to me man. Just schedual it on a Friday so you can take the rental car and give it a beating on the track before you have to take it back.

yea hit and runs is covered under collision. now what i would do if i was you Ken is don't claim it and just pay out of pocket. because if you claim it, your insurance will go up. any claim under collision causes a rate increase.

Sometimes you just need an excuse eh? My front fender was kicked... and that little plastic "bridge" infront of the radiator was cracked. Went to GM to see what a new one would cost... just to know... well, with painting included, $980 CND... *sigh*... I'd rather not... instead, it was a rivet gun, backing plate, drill gun, and the best plastic rivetting I've done...

Tough break though Redog... I agree with the other couple comments here, don't claim it. But if you do, see what those rental cars run... I still remember when mine was in the shop... had two of the worst rentals in history, and thus, I swore by my motto... "Eh! It's a rental!"

it almost looks like that other car was white/siver, you might be able to buff most of those scuffs out, they make some stuff in a orange bottle, i think its "Nufinish" or somthing like that, its been a while, but its like liquid sandpaper, should take alot of that out.

sorry to hear that...sucks, my back bumper is pretty bad from the previous owner

i feal for ya Redog, had the same thing happen to me a few weeks ago. I was on work related trip and parked my alero in the airport parking lot and when i got back i saw it right away. how do people hit parked cars? idiots, tools, morons!

I already claimed it, cause I figured it would be under comp, but my insurance isn't going up. The guy told me it had to be more than $1150 in damage for the rate to increase

But they are paying for the rental. I won't be taking it in until I come home from vaca

Maybe a track day is in the future ;)
