you plan on any other mods? if you're not porting the intake, and/or going with forced induction then the intake is pretty much useless.

someone will probably try and argue, but the stock intake manifold can only take so much air in at a time, and 62mm is a little overkill. you might be disappointed with the money you've spent, that's all i'm saying.

i have the b&m shiftplus kit which does the same thing......and i dont like it too much, the sound when the gears engage is a lil too much for me.....just dont like the way it sounds, but it works and does what it says......and plus if you plan on getting reprogrammed ecu it comes with raised transmission pressure with it.....which is what those do.........so i dunno, its a cheap mod, and shows a major difference.....

i had the b&m before i got my ASE, the ASE shifts a little harder at wot, but not too hard during normal driving..... my tranny doesnt make any noises though.

will i feel a differnce with acceleration or top end with the trans interceptor?
FormulaNERD

no, it shifts firmer...same as the b&m, but the b&m is basically the same, and way cheaper.

quicker revs, maybe a little power....
i have the fast forward performance pulley i'm not using, pm me if you want it, i was too lazy to install it. oh i have the new belt you'll need too.

very little power, but much quicker revving......tons of ways to make a car faster, its not just hp.....

sounds like you're taking the best route... start small... if you can afford headers, i'd get them. other than that, if you wanna go nos, you can go that way, but i personally wouldnt on a stock engine, but thats just me

yea man ill agree with formula, go with some headers, you will have to save a little bit but they give the biggest and most noticable gains without going firced induction or nitrous.....so ive heard anyway, i still havent got to that point........

i was just thinking about useing the money i have in the bank to but a turbo system from greddy anout 2400 dollar what do you guys think
FormulaNERD

there's currently no greddy "kit" that will bolt on simply to our cars... you only have the option of 2 kits, and a few others that are the same kits with different names... stay away from the ITS, and go with the hp performance kit...

price may look steep, but this is a complete kit, intercooler and everything, and custom stuff never comes cheap.

would it be worth it for me to buy a 62mm tb with wai, flowmaster exhaust system and header or would it be useless, rsm racing says a 10plus hp gain.

I just put my 62mm tb on my 3.4 along with porting the UIM and I felt the throttle response right off the bat!! When I floor it from a dead stop the tires spin with the traction control on!.... So yeah i think its worth every penny.... BUT it might help if you know someone that can port and polish good.

there would be a gain, but 10+ from just the TB is a line of horsepoop

on my last car, i noticed a increase in power/throttle response by just cleaning the throttle body really really good (car had 120k worth of muck on it) so there is part of your increase from a dirty tb to a new clean and bigger one.

how do you go abotu port and ploishign the manifodl for the new tb...does it even have to be done?
Arsonalero
01-13-2005, 10:38 PM
yeah you have to aleast port the manifold, its worthless if you dont have it done... its easy to do if your good with a dremel..

is there a section that might tell me how to do it on the mod?
