I was just wondering if anyone else has received a letter from GM about the hazard switch problems. I received on that basically stated that if you had a 99-2000 ( i think) Grand Am, Alero, or Malibu that had faulty hazard switch to bring it to your local dealership and they would fix it for free. But if you weren’t experiencing the problem don’t bring your car in. I’m happy I got it because I didn’t want to pay them to fix it and also the clip that holds the hazard switch on my car broke and they are fixing that for free.

no letter but if anyone has a good way to fix the broken clip that would be great.

when i fixed my clip i took the shroud around the speedometer off and then got some electricians tape and wiggled my fingers in there and wraped it up good. Never let the switch fall back into that dash because it is a b!*%h to get back into place.

I got that letter about 2 weeks after I bought my Alero in October 2003, its a free fix takes a hour not a big deal do it even if it isnt broken I would have it replaced.

when i brought my car to the dealer to have them look at it (just bought the car from a different dealer, had a 30 day warranty) they did that recall on my car, 1 thing i noticed is the new hazard button is brighter and more of a distraction that the old hazard button. but because of the recal, they didn't charge me to look at my car top to bottom to see if anything was wrong with it, they put all the labor under warranty work
