OK, so this is my 3'rd winter with an Alero, and I am getting sick of my winter wiper blades not working worth hell.

I have the same sizes on my Cavalier (17" & 22") and the same problem occurs on both cars. In these frigid temperatures going down the highway, I hit the wipers and only have the top & bottom inch of the wiper actually do anything. I have had this problem every year, but it seems to be worse this year.

I am currently using Trico Winter Blades, which are one of the better on the market, but in reality really suck.

Any Canadians try the Canadian Tire "Reflex" yet? I hear they are great in rain and slush, and never lift off your windshield at highway speeds, but my only concern is that they don't freeze to the shape of the windshield in the down position. Only people in the upper states and Canada will be able to help with this one.

I feel your pain, my passenger side starting doing that again this morning. I usually just give 'em a good bash when I get in the car to loosen up the ice, etc. then wash the windshield before I get moving. Seems like the washer fluid on the wipers helps 'em not freeze so bad, maybe?

^ Usually a good bash will work to free them up, but not this year. You literally have to massage them back to warmth to get any part of the middle touching the winshield. I am figuring maybe some water got under the rubber jacket and is freezing them underneath? Since our temperature has been going from -20 to + 13 and back to -31 within 5 days, that is more than likely the case.

I'd recommend the double blade wipers, you can get 'em from Canadian tire too, I've had mine for about a year now and they clean the glass very well in any weather.
