Crutchfield says that Alpine 6X9's SPS-690-A's will not fit my 99 alero but Circuitcity says they will.

Does anyone have these installed in their car? or will they or won't they fit?

Thanks!

it depends on the 6x9 metal base frame. I had some infinity reference 6x9s and they fit fine.. when crutchfield said they won't fit. Then I got the diamond audio now and the metal frame is fatter (wider) and it hits the metal on the rear deck.. so I had to take some pliers and bend the metal for fitment.

yea... i had to help -Alero- with this... if they're too big you can do like richie said and just modify the metal in the trunk

I am curious as to what year of alero's you might have. I have a 2003. The rear speakers fit into a plastic retainer that snaps into the frame. The size of the hole is nearly as big as the speaker itself. Are some 6x9's too large for this, or are there different baffles?

I have a 99. I purchased and installed the Alpine's today and they fit fine and sound great.
