Here's a cheaper Infared LED, would this work? (has different wavelength):

Things to consider:
1) Legality - I live in VA, and last I checked, radar detectors are illegal, so wouldn't jamming devices be to?
2) Am I an idiot? For thinking of doing something that will never materialize/ work?
