Power Windows

:pissed: Ok I went too roll down the driver side window & you know with power windows if you pull back all the way on the driver window control button the window rolls down by it self automaticlly well it didnt it only rolled down for as long as I held the button so I did it again & the same thing so I tried a 3rd time & then nothing so I tried to roll It up & that worked fine, but then I tried to roll it down again & nothing. All the other windows work fine. So has any one else ever had this problem & can I fix it my self.

sounds like it could just be the power window switch...before you go tearing everything apart, i would just try the switch first

I agree prob the switch; because if you are getting movement up and down but not getting one paticular function like the auto down then its most likely in the switch. Of course it could just be that you car has a mind of its own and just doesn't want to auto down when you tell it.

now it is only working some times I mean it only rolls down when it wants to.

If I pull back on the botton & wiggle it a little I can get it to roll down "sometimes".

so maybe it is the switch :wacko: :wacko:

no need to bump dood, you got the answer if the regulator is working and the switch does roll your windows down but the auto function is not working then it ur switch. I would suggest trying the junkyard first for a free in your pocket switch.

Good luck, I hope their right. Mine started out the same way and now it doesn't work at all. now it's a few months later and I've gotta replace the motor, cables, regulator and white window clips. nothing works now. The power stuff for these windows that Oldmobile used (or whoever put this car together) really suck! I've never seen or heard of a car with so many power window problems.
