Okay...I want to get 235/45/17 Kumho Ecsta Supra 712 tires for my 17" Exel wheels. My wheels say they're 17x7 but on TireRack.com under specs for those 235 tires it says rim width range is 7.5-9.0. It has that same range for every tire I think...does that mean I cannot put any 235's on my 17x7 wheels?! I really hope not, but someone please verify for me! Thanks!
P.S. On WheelMax where I got my wheels they have the option to get a wheel/tire package with 235/45/17's on the rims so I am sure it's do'able but I just wanna know if these Kumho's will work/not.

Hey adam....my rims are 17x7 also....235/45 will fit just fine. Just in case I would not go with a 245. I have had the same rims for 3 years (with 235/45)....no problems. You are good to go!!!!

even on an 18 you can get away with 235. My old lexani rims were 235/45/18 ;)

i thought by having a wider than recommend tire you actually hurt your handling characteristics...somthing to do with the sidewall bulging out. so they'll fit on there, but not recommended for the other reasons. unless you just like the look/ off the line grip of wider tires
i had 245/50/16's on my 89 trofeo, which i believe was a 16x6.5, not sure on that part, but they bulged ALOT
