Im trying to fit my carputer under the passenger side seat, so im looking for a plastic case thats about 10-11" wide and 3.5" to 4" tall, length isnt important.....anyone know a good place to look for just a generic plastic case thats durable and wont melt to a little heat? Ive just come to a brain block on this one. Thanks for the help

Yeah I read somewhere on mp3car forums on how to mold plexiglass. Try a search there. I think youll need a heat gun.

I bought 1/4" plexi from homedepot and had started building a box for under the seat but just replaced it with the one you have.

If you use plexiglass or any sort of plastic be certain that you have ordered ESD safe. Plastics and plexiglass generate alot of static that can easily short out your IC's. Go to http://www.mcmaster.com/ and search for ESD. There are three types of plastics to choose from. The clear acrylic will cost the most at 33 dollars per sheet of .25x 12 inches. A black sheet of ABS is 15 dollars but the tensil strengh is 4500 compared to the acrylics 10000 psi. I believe the ABS plastic would warp easily at higher temps. You might be able to find a better price somewhere else. McMaster-Carr can be pretty high. Just look for a ESD rating. There are three types.
109 - 1012 Anti-Static - Initial charges are suppressed
106 - 109 Dissipative - No or low initial charges prevents discharge to or from human contact
102 - 105 Conductive - No initial charge, provides path for charge to bleed-off
Dissipative plastics cost the least and tend to be clear. A conductive needs to have carbon fibers to work properly, hense the darker colors and higher prices.
