Has anyboy ever used an APC or similar LED tailight bulb replacement? Is it brighter? Does it look cool?

They are definately harder to see I think, the brake lights don't light up very much at all. I've got the new matrix brake lights with about 25 leds per bulb. People tell me they can hardly tell the difference between my brake lights and my park lights. The 3rd brake light is VERY bright though.

hmmm, that sucks, i thought they'd be really good. i have cheap apc ones, and they are way brighter... just nothing shining into the lense, straight forward.
right now i just have them in the center tails, and everyone says it looks like snake eyes, i want a wider beam, but i guess they wont be as bright.
oh well, wont have the car much longer anyway.

the matrix ones aren't worth the extra money. I guess there are about 19 leds that face to the rear versus 15 on my cheapy bulbs. I was really hoping that the leds that are supposed to shine in the reflector would only light when the brakes were applied, haven't been able to find those anywhere though.

Dig. cam's can't capture LED lights that well. You sorta have to trust someone with them

What did you install in the 3rd brake light? I'd like to get mine to light up like that.

If you do this mod and you drill holes in the LED tail light, be careful where you drill your holes. When I did mine, I drilled out some stuff on the board and I had to repair it. Just pay attention to where you drill. I think I paid $25 from carparts.com

As well as rmulax19, I bought a pair of these LED bulbs from Checkers (dont know if anyone has it by them) right when I put them in, blew a fuse right away, why is that happening? I dont know why these shouldn't work, they say 3157 right on the package, any help? Maybe I was rushing putting them in the first time and blew a fuse, but i'd like to know for sure that these will work before buying another box a fuses.. Thanks
Need to change my sig pretty soon, unless a miracle happens...

when you push the bulbs in, make sure that the metal pins on the bulb are straight, only thing I could think of is if the metal pins were touching something and grounding out.

That sounds possible, because when I put the bulb in, I heard a noise, most likely the fuse breaking. I'll try tomorrow and see how it goes.. I dont want to start a new post, but how can i make the center dome light from falling down after i replaced it with aftermarket bulbs, as well as the rear view mirrow, I cant seem to get those bulbs out, I dont want to break them, that would make it worse, but is there an easy way to get those out?? Thanks...
