too wide. What's the width of the rim and the backspacing. Might be able to get a spacer and longer lugnuts.

might help if you posted complete rim/tire info.

yeah, the only way to fit 20's without suspension mods is if you get high offset with narrow width. what size tires are you trying to use?

Im thinking you have 20X8 if the front fits without rubbing, so like grouch said spacer and longer lug nuts, or get 20X7.5 rims thats the only ways to make them fit.

Velocity 495 20"
LUG PATTERN: 5X4.5 5X5.75
OFFSET: HIGH
SIZE: 20X8.5
Tires Nitto 235/35/20
Those are the specs.
Theres no way i can get different struts or springs?
the back rims hit the bottom of that spring thing it needs like a inch
thanks

Your going to have trouble because where RWD bolt patterns and FWD bolt patterns maybe the same, the offsets never are
This is from our FAQ link on the homepage (http://invision.aleromod.com/index.php?act=loadpage&f=rims)

maybe im just a stupid girl, but i dont think 20's would look good on our car...17's i think are a bit too small, 18's are perfect...i think 20's would just be a bit too much....but thats my opinion....dont listen to me :P

ne of you gusy think if my rims sticking out in the back about 1.75 inches would look good?
because thats what im gonna have to do if i get adapters.
also do any of you guys know where to find some good reliable places to purchase good adapters??
last place i bought form adaptamerica@aol.com stole my money. :(

i say have some billet adapters machined... shouldnt be too pricey, and they'll last forever.

thats the only N-body ive ever seen that looked good with 20's
19's would look better inmo in that style, but it looks awesome (and better than the same exact 18's he had)
Sticking out 1.75" past the fender? it'll look like ass

Nik1128, naw man that does look sweet. when i think of 20s on our car i wouldnt expect it to look that good.

cause im starting to think i should sell em..
o by the way, if i do sell these rims, what type of 20" rim and tire should i get
(like the offset and tire sizes)
ne help would be great!

You could buy the spacers along with a set of fender flares to cover up those extra inches

it could look good. alot of work, but COULD
no.. wait, maybe not.

buy the spacers, and a 215 tire. I don't think they'll stick out that much, prolly won't even be noticeable. But if they stick out too much get the stainless steel wheel well trim from the site on here under all parts(just under new posts or something on our menu) they're only about $100 and stick out another 1/2 inch then our regular fenders. I wouldn't get rid of the rims and rubber if you can make it work, and i think you should be able to get it all together by the time the weather starts warming up.

i think you're nuts. sell the wheels and do it right. or, do what formula nerd said and use real fender flares that get molded in. but the smartest thing to do would be to sell the wheels and buy ones made for the car.

i dont think there is a 20" tire that is only 215 wide, but even if there was, he'd still be hosed because the rims is 8.5" wide.

You could also roll out the fenders so that they would cover up the tire. That is, if you have body experience or you know anybody that does have experience.

turtles_ride

i don't think 235's would fit. your best bet is to take your car with you when you're getting the rims and tires, and get them to try em on readaway, that's what they did with mine and they saw the 235s hit the struts and springs, so they just put narrower tires on and they fit fine. I think i got 225/s on now.

Aftermath Alero has 225/35/20 on his.
AftermathAlero
02-19-2005, 09:55 PM
you can get 225/30/20 BFG g-force T/A KDW tires from tirerack for $299 each special (normal are $350). Your speedomter will be correct.
Or
You can get the Nitto's NT555 225/35/20 for $165 each from tires.com (discount tire direct). But your speedomoter will be 5-7 mph off, when your reading 60 mph on the speedo; your really going 65-67 mph. I know.. I had a cop follow me and I had a friend car's driving side by side to compare.
So $1200 plus shipping for tires for the BFG or $700 for the nitto's more or less.

maybe if you had air and they tucked. did you even lower it at all? doesnt look like it.

Looks like a truck....which means..you need to lower your ride....good looking rims though..i like them. now lower your car! :P
turtles_ride
03-17-2005, 05:15 PM
i'd put eibach springs on it, you still want somewhat of a smooth ride and it'll drop it about 1 inch. They really stand out cuz your car is so dark. I'd put the chrome fender flares on like i got on my car, i think they look hot. it also accentuates the curves around the tires.
Travis99Alero
03-17-2005, 05:21 PM
lower it, but ignore the post about the chrome fender crap, it's ugly.
FormulaNERD
03-17-2005, 05:23 PM
yea... the chrome fender crap is gay, and you need to lower it more than 1"

You will be alright with strut clearance. For a smooth ride with the least amount of drop (about 1"), go with Eibachs. If you want to go with more drop, but a harsher ride, go with Intrax or Springtechs. They both give about 1.75" of drop. The springtechs settle to about a 2" drop, but I'm not sure about the Intrax.
turtles_ride
03-18-2005, 11:31 AM
when you lower our cars by changing the spring, the distance from the tire to the strut stays the same, its just the spring itself that is shorter in height, thats why it appears dropped. My rides not that rough, but i have 18/45s on it with the eibachs. seriously, if you wanna go lower then that with only 30s, you might have to go with air or juice, but then you might have problems with your rims hitting other parts of your suspension.
