My friend has a 12" audiobhan and a boss amp hooked up to his factory system. he's got a ford taurus and its impossible to add an aftermarket HU without building a new dash, but we hooked his sub and amp all up and the sub hits but not very hard at all. its a noticible difference from without it but its not exactly pounding.
So we took the signal cables and hooked them up to the subwoofer ouptputs on my head unit and the thing hits really hard. and it sounds great. so we're guessing that the problem in his car is weak output from the factory amp (he's got a JBL premium system).
If this assumption is correct, would something like this fix the problem?
Audiobahn AEQ-6Q (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=79841&item=5751439709&rd=1)
or, more inexpensively, because he's already overbudget and doesnt need an entire equalizer
PAC Turbo-1 (http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=48605&item=5751114312&rd=1)
any help or clarification would be great
