Ok, so my car had been sitting in the parking lot at my college for about 3 weeks or so before i drove it (today) and when i got in and started going, i noticed that there was a pronounced road noise, not your everyday tires on pavement noise. This was more like the sound you get when you drive on a bridge or a more coarse road, the kind thats definately more audible. So at first im thinking possibly tire pressure, so i check that.....fron left is 36 PSI ...front right was 33 ...back 2 were around 35................and im thinking a 3 psi difference between the fron 2 tires isnt enough to really cause this kind of noise. And i also figure alignment is ok b/c there is absolutely no shake in the wheel, or pull to any direction when i let it go. .............so, i need some help on this one, maybe its just my car mad at me for neglecting it weeks at a time?

I dunno, I've always had hellacious road noise, I figured Aleros are just loud...

and i'd say for the most part they are.....but here's the kicker, i went back out with a new tire pressure gauge (i didnt really trust the 1st one i used) and i tested and re-tested both front tires 3 times....and all 2 the front right was consistantly 11.5 psi lower than the left...........WOW, no woder, and i just had it into the dealer 2 weeks ago for service, good to know they're checking things out.....well, i'd say i've got this under controll, there is still some noise there, but i'd say its prob. around normal

hmmm. I've checked mine numerous times and they're allways fine. Maybe I'll end up sticking some padding under the carpeting or something.

Just keep an eye out on that. I too thought I had bad road/tire noise with my Alero. But it just kept getting worse. Turns out it was a bad wheel bearing.

Get the bearings checked out. You could be hearing tire noise. Alot of times, tires can get chopped up.
Of fwd vehicles usually it will be the rear, and front tires on rwd vehicles.
Keep them rotated with each oil change and make sure your alignment is ok.
When you rotate them cross the rear to the front and bring the front tires strait back. And as you already know, keep an eye on the tire pressures.
Hope this helps.

BTW a chopped up tire's tread will be un-even. When you run your hand over the tread you can feel the variations.
If that's what's wrong.

thanks for the help, im going to get the bearings looked at over spring break. I dont think its the tire tread b/c i took the tire all the way off to make sure there wasnt a nail or something in it that i just didnt notice, and it seemed fine to me.

problem is that your car is pissed at you for letting it sit for 3 weeks without driving it!!!

lower your tire pressure to 32 psi, 35 makes the ride rougher, and doesn't do anything for you with stock tire sizes, even with aftermarket wheels, I suggest 32 psi for all Aleros.
