ok so in my jeep i swapped out my stock speakers for 5 1/4s. i put 4 of them in and they are running off of the stock cd player. one makes a buzzing like noise during some songs. but not all songs. it cant be blown since i have little power going to it but i dunno

Mine does that, too. I don't think I have the radio grounded right.

that sounds like some sorta ground loop......check all your connections, especially your ground like aleroman8 said......

if everything looks fine change the speaker locations, since they are all the same size, if the problem follows the speaker than the speaker is the problem......just cause its new and its underpowered doesnt mean it cant go bad...

a buzzing noise sounds more like its the signal/power thats distorted than the speaker, is it a high pitched buzzing noise? does the noise get more high pitched the harder you press the gas?

if you just pulled out the stocks and spliced the new ones in, you could check to see if there's any frayed wires touching the car, or maybe you used non-insulated connectors and there pressed up against somthing in the car thats metal.

Just a thought Paul: Because it's only during different songs and not all the time, is it possible that the buzzing you hear is maybe a panel or something comparable vibrating @ certain frequencies? That would explain why it doesn't do it all the time.

I agree with the above two. Certain songs sound like complete crap in my car because of some vibrations which actually sound like they are coming from the sub. Gots to get some dynomat...
