Trunk Lid Mat, Please Order

I just ordered a trunk lid mat for my grand prix gt from http://www.granddesignmat.com/. I talked to the owner and he said he could make one for the alero if there is some interest (20 or more). He could maybe do the olds symbol or ALERO. Would anyone be interested in this? He would also need a test alero for the pattern. Please let me know, so I can get this going for you all. :thumbsup:

Koruptid: looks like they would be between 70 and 100. If they were to be over 100, that wouldn't be worth it IMO

they should not go over 90......he may not be able to do the olds symbol due to copyright laws....but alero for sure!!!

no offense or downtalk on the thread..I made one of those but for the floor of the trunk for an Accord. It was wrapped in carpet just like that and had an Orion symbol cut out of it. I just think that might be easier to make.

Anything you buy you can make yourself, I know I dont have the talent to do it....so I bought one. Stealth I dont think it would interfere with your dyno mat. He is located somewhere in NC, so we would need a test vehicle from there, but if we dont get near 20, it is not going to happen.

So if you want this please speak up.

i'm down, but i dont really know why there should be a copyright law on the olds symbol...they don't exist anymore..LOL I'll be moving to NC in June, so if it happens after that, he can use my car and i got dynomat on the lid so we'll make sure it fits for those with matting.

Chad the website states please allow 14-16 buisness days to have item in hand. This is after payment clears from PAYPAL to our bank account. Your mat will ship sometime this week.

On the other mats. I will work on getting a pattern. This could a day or two or weeks. I have to find a car to make the pattern. So these people need to keep update on the process. Give them my website name and when the mat is added they can place there order. Thanks

The owner emailed me....dont give up on this...!!!! He said......

"The Chevy dealer here has made a few phone calls during lunch to some of the owners to see if I can do this with one of there cars. But If I find one its going to be a week or two before I get any designs or the final pattern cut. I have a lot of orders at this time and this is going into the busy time of the year for us, so most of the time there is no new designs until Fall or Winter. We will do what we can to get this done in a few weeks."

update...I asked how it was going..here is his response...

It's not. I have to dealerships that are looking for me. Had one car in Monday for an oil change but owner would not allow me to make a pattern. CAlled the local salvage yard and they have the cars but will not allow me to make a pattern without buying the hood. Not paying 195.00 to make a pattern. I have 4 emails showing they may want one. 10.00 dollars in profit does not make up this 195.00. So I will keep looking. Check back in a few weeks. If I get one before then, I will email you

ok everyone i just talked to phil and he has the pattern. he said it was easy since it's the same as the grand am he just wanted to make sure. so everyone please if you are wanting one email him or go to the site and purchase one. i talked to him on the phone friday and he sounded like someone i would definitely do business with so please if you are going to get one email him and lets get these things going. i am going to get mine ordered as soon as i get my next check. he said prices should be around the same as the grand ams.

I will do the raised Olds logo and Sunk Plexi Mirror design. The ALERO letters are to wide to get them to a nice height to fit the mat. I will try to get a test picture this week, but not making any real mats with designs to I have a order.

I made a test mat Sunday of the Raised Olds logo, I guess ROCKET is what they call it, Sunk Rocket and Mirror Rocket. THis is 3 designs that I will have them added before WEDS AFTERNOON

Just to let you know that I am pushing the designs in front of some orders to help you owners out. I am backed up on custom designs but I promised you guys some work and you will get it. I would have to say the logo "ROCKET" in mirror looks good...

please keep in mind that these are test photos..not the real thing. He need you to order them so he can make them. It took about 2 weeks to get mine and 5 minutes to install. I dont have an alero anymore so let me know it turns out.

I emailed him to see how the mats turned out, here is his response.

Well, pretty much a waste of time and money. Around 10 hours of time making a pattern, test fitting, and making 3 mats for samples.

That page will come off the site at the End of June or first of July and will not be added back. We had a total of about 14 emails and several people wanted free mats. HAHAHAHAHA


I thought you all were interested in this. I have one for my grand prix and I love it. So if you want one, hit him up. He will not give any for free.
