service engine soon question

hey my service engine soon light went on like about 2 weeks ago..i was gonna goto the dealer to get it checked out but tonight it didnt come back on when i started my car..i recently refilled my engine coolant like a few weeks before the light came on..but like my question is do u think it was from adding engine coolant and is it normal for the light to go off like after a week or two?

It may not have been a "hard code." Some codes will go away after so many key cycles, if the condition isn't there, and other won't go away unless they're cleared. So unless it comes back again, it's probly fine. If it does though, take it to AutoZone and have them read it for you.

There are about 300 things that set that light. If it went away, Misslindseysue is right in that it's not a hard code. Most likely it's a sensor that tripped, or you may have left your gas cap loose. If it comes back, get it checked out. If it doesn't, forget about it!
